I was looking for a way to make my Black Templars more competitive in this upcoming league which I can only imagine what other armies I will come to face against due to the fact it is purely power level. I assume 75 PL is suppose to be around 1.5k but I was able to squeeze close to 1.8k points in this list. I went for max upgrades and I tried to equip my units with heavy hitting weapons. Lascannons and plasma cannons as much as possible. I'm still up in the air with it, I might just split the list and take some custodes instead of running dual battalions.

You might seem some issue in the heavy weapon effectiveness. With the heavy weapons riding in a transport, they may not get much use. You may want to kit out a couple of ranged squads and a couple of close combat squads. Because in a squad of 5 you can have two power weapons, and a special weapon.

I was thinking about doing a mix of CC and shooty. This list takes advantage of the crusader squad to maximize shooting, but having some balance would be nice. With the two razorbacks having the assault cannons, they would be moving up to utilize them, so having units with CC inside those ones would be good.

Another thing to think about if planning to maximize shooting is the Black Templar relic, the Crusader Helm, which increases the HQ bubble. Take the warlord Trait Storm of Fire as well, and on that turn where you disembark and unload all of your boltguns and plasmaguns, the bubble will be bigger, and rolls of 6s will be at a higher ap.

Also good if you combine with using 3 command points to make the captain a chapter master, so you aren't just re-rolling 1s, you're re-rolling all misses, which actually works better for moving and firing heavy weapons as well.
