I'm interested more in classifications of ships rather that particular vessels. I know that the Imperium has lost the ability to build and maintain a number of classifications over the last 10,000 years. Weren't there ships in use during the Unification Wars that were considered ancient even at the time?

The Tuchulcha (if I spelled it right) was one of three sentient devices/warp entities used to create the Webway by the Old Ones and predates the War in Heaven. Lion El Jonson used it in the Heresy to smash up the Nightlords fleet who have been scattered since.
Gah oops human vessels. Might be the unmanned probe from the dark age of technology that left the galaxy long ago still sends reports back to admech. So far nothing but orks.

It's plausible between how huge they get and reality twisting their gestalt psykic gets. Could be that the orks in Andromeda got so big, numerous and psychic that they believe their galaxy should fight ours and thus Andromeda is headed our way. The so called great devourer of galaxies ends up is actually running from a galaxy chasing it.

The probe could also be picking up the very outer galactic rim where is is well outside the galaxy they know and can travel too. Thr impirum has some pretty wide areas beyond the astroconium on its edges.
Human...
Speranza is a admech ship from dark age too.
Yeah custodoes ships and a few famous warships.
What about the emparors battlebwrge. Its fate is unknown. Could be another great crusade era ship.
The deathwatch have a AI semi automatic extremitous stelph ship that sounds like aintiacnt tech.

The chaos aligned Gloriana Battleships are still human vessles and many are still in service.
Depends on how time passes in the warp I suppose, but I beleive the Alpha legion's pair are still around. Automatically Appended Next Post: Engrenages wrote:The Arks Mechanicus ? From what I remember, some are said to predate the Great Crusade.
Many of them are. Either built from scratch during the age of strife, or built on the dead hulks of DAoT ships. Automatically Appended Next Post: My guess is the Phalanx is the oldest human ship. If it was indeed built by humans originally.

Some more recent sources say that the Phalanx was designed and built by Dorn.

The Galaxy Class armed freighters were apparently designed.in the age of strife. There must be a few still around. I thijknthey get a mention in one of the Ghost books. Or maybe it's a Cain book.
