Hi Folks,

A reasonably new player in 40k, with a bit of a (possibly) unusual question. In my gaming group, everyone plays 40k, however one of my friends nearby plays AOS. I am thinking of getting an army together that I could use in both systems. I was toying with the idea of running a "Nurgle's menagerie" (this is an AOS battlescroll but would primarily guide my buying) list using the start collecting set, some beasts of nurgle and some of the trees, as well as Slimux.

First of all, is this viable? I know that the price (in money) of the beasts and trees is pretty high but since none of these games will be in stores or tournaments I am quite happy to proxy using models from other lines etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

In 40k, Beasts are subpar at best. They're expensive and unpredictable. However, they are usable.

The best bet with 40k is masses of Plaguebearers, Sloppity Bilepiper, and Smallpox Scrivener as a basis for a list; say 30 PB's and 2 units of Nurglings as a start. Then you can bulk from there. The best Nurgle units in 40k: Poxbringer, the Plaguyebearer HQ's, Plaguebearers, Drones, Nurglings. Great Unclean One is OK, but Rotigus is very good combined with things like Drones or other multi-wound units

Awesome thanks for the great feedback. I'll keep it in mind when I eventually get round to buying some things
