Surprised this one hasn't been posted already, I think it will be of interest to quite a few of you...

Can't figure out how to make pictures appear in a post and make this thread look all pretty but everything you need to know is in the link below.

About a day left to go on the campaign, already funded and achieved most of stretch goals.

NOt sure I’d touch this one.

Reason being is they are partnered with another company that has created 4 other KS campaigns and 3 of the 4 aren’t done and their 1st from 2014 hasn’t had an update and lasts posts in the comments seam to reflect some sort of legal issue that they cannot discuss. The two most recent ones were for delivery April and March of this year and seam to be in limbo due to a family member in the hospital. This is the first for this company though.

I dig the character designs, but the game concept doesn't really interest me.

Interesting models but I dislike that they don't even mention miniature manufacturing as a potential risk - only 3D model creation and scheduling. Sounds like they haven't even done any test prints.

I won't be touching it at all.

The "company" in question currently calls themselves "Ninja Division", but used to do business as "Soda Pop Miniatures". Recently, they called the backers of their Kickstarters "toxic", due to backers having the temerity do demand that ND/SPM provide the product, information and/or refunds promised when they took backer money at the start of the campaigns.

Other partners (e.g. Shinobi 7) are walking away from ND/SPM (Shinobi moved to Diamond/Alliance), so only stuff that was in pipeline (e.g. Starfinder) is still going forward. As far as I can tell, ND/SPM is only supposed to provide US Distribution services, but lately, they've been screwing that up, too - SPM is refusing to address items damaged during shipment, for example. If ND/SPM won't do a good job shipping things from their store in the US, I doubt they'd do a better job with someone else's stuff.

Also the minis are 65-75mm in height so not really useable outside of this game.

Blegh. Another fire and forget Kickstarter. Add it to the pile with rest.

Problem is, this looks like so many others that have been done over the last few years, that they're beginning to blur into one.

I really like the character design.

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. [...] If [you don't feel the same way], you will not be missed"

Can you link to where the company is linked to Ninja Division?

Interesting. When the KS launched, the creators specifically name-dropped ND as one of their partners. There as a question in the Comments that got answered, but now, there's no mention of ND anywhere, at all. I suppose I could check Wayback, but it's like it never happened. '\o/'

If I were interested, I'd probably ask whether they were still partnered with ND.

Thanks, Theo.

I'm seeing First Created and Toonhound Studios (founded by Scott Kurtz of PvP comics) as the collaborator. Not confident in TS from the comments in the KS they created, although PvP comics have appeared retail for a long time. But video game and comics experience doesn't necessarily translate to miniatures.

Campaign's over, so I'll add myself to the mailing list for future projects. Eleven oversized figures for $70 is reasonable, I guess...?

I bit. If it's a bust at least it wasn't a huge investment.

Gameplay seemed a bit like Gorechosen, which has been a success in our house many times over.

I like arena deathmatch style games, and I'm not too put off by the scale difference.

We'll see how it goes.
