HQ units and not enough anti horde. Also those hemlocks would probably get downed faster than you would think in a 2k point game. Drop both of them maybe and get 3x fire prisms. The fire prisms are anti everything. With linked fire they just delete units. And with -1 alaitoc they will be hard to kill. They have range to hit anything across the map too. They will live a lot longer than hemlocks. And drop a couple
HQ and throw in something else. Not sure if you enjoy having units just for the cool factor or for pure competitiveness.
I do really like fire prism's. They're flexible but also very random as an anti-horde unit.
2d6 shots (double shots each prism) is nice but not really great anti horde considering its cost. But I do like the hemlocks for the cool factor but might remove them from the list if they don't really perform well.
At the current tournament scene I don't really think I will see a lot of big horde armies. Poxwalkers are screwed as far as heard and astra militarum really struggle with -1/-2 to hit stuff.
Also got to playtest this strategy and look if the amount of characters are over the top or if they're capable of making the shining spears unstoppable. Also like to be able to only deploy a single shining spear unit, 2 hemlocks, rangers and put the characters behind them. stratagem gives shining spears an extra -1 to hit and voila all units got a -2 to hit. Dark reapers also got really screwed so don't think I would see a lot of them.
Also been thinking about a unit harlequin's and shadowseer to improve their movement. With 4 attacks each the could also take on a lot of hordes.
Hmm got to think about those fire prism's.
