Hey everyone,

I'm working on a vanguard veteran squad at the moment and i'm trying to put my best paint job into them. This essentially comes down to patience more than anything else! I just wanted to share the first completed miniature here for some feedback. If you feel so inclined, feel free to follow the rest of my progress on my blog over in the P&M subcategory: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/1740/368000.page

Cheers for the time!

They look very good, your Ultramarines are always terrific. I like the energy crackling in their axes.

This guy looks great. Very neat work which suits Ultramarines very well. That axe is brilliant. What brush are you using for the highlight on the shoulder pad, that is super fine!

Thanks everybody for your feedback

@darkstar yes the helmet comes with the kit. There's an awesome mk. IV helmet with a bionic in the sternguard kit as well.

@kraken I just used the GW Artificer layer. Proper dilution of my paint was was made of flow thin and smooth (and a painfully steady hand of course )

Great job on the shoulder pads. I tend to stay away from edge highlights and to a blend of layering and washing as I build up my bag of painting tools, but fully finished the edge highlights looks great - Im gone start using it more. Not bad with the white and that axe is a real eye catcher.
