Oozing Plague Marine Terminator

I am in the process of painting Mortarion, watching a few Tutorial videos, but noone has mentioned the bottom of Mortarions boots, since he is hovering midair.

I would imagine a filthy guy such as He would have some pretty dirty mud crusted boots, but I haven't really seen any tutorials for it. Is Typhus Corrosion a good application, or is Devlan Mud?

Any help or tutorials on this? I imagine certain Assault Marines or running figure tutorials would contain tips on this small detail.

Also, second question is, color of Soles? Most tutorials have the bottom of his feet the same green as all other plating, but is that the case for all Space Marines? I would imagine a neutral grey or black magnetic sole or something...

What color do you paint the soles of SM boots?

Like you said a dark colour or even a metal. As for Mortarion typhus corrosion is ok but if you want to go to town use pigments and ova to build up a really mucky look. Or possibly the texture paints GW do. Lots of online tutorials for using pigments to build up muck.

Also remember it's your model and there is no right or wrong way to paint it. What ever feels right to u.

You could mix paint water and PVA glue (white glue) with some bakeing soda to make the mud paste. I think I saw it done on some model car tutorials but cant find them or remember for sure where I saw it done.
