I think I want to get a Skull Cannon for my World Eaters army, but I hate the miniature and am looking for an alternative. I'm willing to go pretty far outside the box for this alternative miniature.

I dislike the smooth look of the Skull Cannon in addition to the bloodletters (I use the old, metal ones). For a Skull Cannon, I do not necessarily need to include the bloodletter crew members, but could instead choose to have the cannon itself make those attacks. It could be a demonic-looking tyranid-type unit, like a small defiler, with just a demon-looking guy incorporating a cannon into its being. Alternatively, it could just be a cannon with some metal bloodletters acting as crew.

I really just don't want to use the model that is currently available. Any ideas?

Oh yes...

I have some chaos chariot pieces I could use to make it less stone-agey. That's a great idea! Thanks!

Using the multibarrel autocannon from a Forgefiend would look pretty cool.

Personally, I'd go for some sort of chaos mutant shuffling along on four (or more) limbs (some perhaps mechanical), its mouth (probably its whole head) replaced by a cannon, being led in chains by a demon 'crew'. But that could be a lot of conversion work.

I actually might be able to pull that off without buying anything. I noticed I have some spare Lord of Skulls parts with my Kytan Ravager kit and I have some spare Bloodthirster parts, too. Plus a fully built, completely ignored chaos spawn and some other minis that are just sitting around.

I have a whole cannon, a right and left bloodthirster arm, some spare juggernauts, etc. What if I replaced the juggernauts head with the cannon end and the barrel extends back over its back. Replace the front limbs with some bloodthirster arms to help accentuate its front-heavy nature. It might look like a baby forgefiend with no gun-arms.

I think I might try this since I won't have to actually buy anything or destroy anything I'm actually using. I'm really reluctant to use a Skull Cannon... so this might be a good gateway.

It looks silly, but I kinda like it. A chaos demon version of a biovore. It has the Lord of Skulls cannon/engine for a cannon, the khorne juggernaut body without a head, and the arms of a bloodthirster. What I would like to do is add a cage/bowl on top that you put skulls/heads into and where they get transformed into ammo for the skull cannon. Then the hand will be holding a long spike that it uses to drop the skulls/heads in the cage/bowl. I have several random ideas and we'll see what ends up happening with the parts I have.
