I've decided to rejoin the fold. My parents were clearing out their loft and handed me a box of miniatures. Many of which were from 2nd Edition, but I had a lot of Chaos Space Marines. I've started painting some and starting collecting even more. I've yet to play a proper game again, but I'm enjoying painting.

I've decided to go for a blue and silver paint scheme after being inspired by Adharon's Reavers, the Violators and the Invocators. I guess they can be played as any of those, or even Alpha Legion.

Here's the beginning of my collection so far... I'll post more as it goes on. Please be kind. I've never really painted any of the stuff I had before except really childish 2nd edition attempts! I welcome any advice, but I think I'm getting better. I still struggle with skin tones and think I was thinning my paints almost too much sometimes.

That is a very fine start, I actually like the fleshy skin tone on that brute.

Cheers. I really wanted to go for a fleshy look on it. Like it was bursting or growing out of the armour. I'm working on some berserkers, so will put pictures of those up too. These are finished to table top quality (in my opinion at least). They require edge highlighting and some finer details (some eyes, belts etc). I tried to get these done quickly, but hopefully they're ok.

Two squads of eight khorne berserkers, with a mixture of bolt pistols and chainaxes or chainswords. At a push they can be three squads of five men, to make up detachment rules.



I do plan on a World Eater detachment. I want three eight man squads with both chainsword and chainaxes, Kharn the Betrayer and a Dark Apostle or other HQ, and perhaps some Rhinos. I already have Kharn the Betrayer painted up, here:


I have around 15 Chaos Space Marines, a Chaos Lord, a Daemon Prince, 3 bikers, and a few other things to paint up, so they'll be coming in this chain.
