Hi all. Needing help with purple.
So I did this container
And purple seemed like a nice colour to go for given that one of my gangs is Escher. But I've got absolutely no idea how to highlight and weather purple. Anyone got any tips?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I am no expert and this may be a problem for large batches, but mix a small amount of white into your purple, or use pink.

I’d use the GW base color hormogaunt purple; it looks like a purple grey tint, then use weathering powder black soot on the recesses last. Add decal before powder work if you want any.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

Utilizing Careful Highlighting
|
Get a nice bright purple for your basecoat, find a lighter purple to highlight, then wash that sucker with black. Bam, instant excellent purple.

drop a purple ink wash over, layer the base, then add a tiny drop of a bone colour, highlight the layers, some more and then edge highlight.
Purple looks great, its not that hard to do, the trick is the ink wash
