I've been playing it from the Alpha stage on PC, and personally it's everything I ever wanted in a 40k video game. Mechanically, it plays a lot like Diablo 3, except that your skills are linked to your weapons.
From what I've seen and experienced, it seems as if the game will receive continued support in new 'seasons' and world events, which will introduce new missions and new enemy factions (at the moment it's limited to chaos, primarily nurgle, but also word bearers, black legion and alpha legion, rebel guard and other assorted scum.)

Would really recommend.

Do you know what your sin is, Malcolm Reynolds?
Ah hell, I'm a fan of all seven.
But right now, I'm gonna have to go with wrath.

Might just have to buy it then.

There's a lot of criticism in reviews, even from 40k heads. Seems to be kinda clunky and lacking in many areas. Which most 40k games are, unfortunately.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

Also been playing since Alpha on PC.

It is quite good and general arpg gubbins. It can get quite repetitive after a while but that will most likely be addressed by the additional content which will be released - in the main the dlc is going to be free.

Well polished game other than the odd voice acting cheese which crops up now and then but that is 40K for you.

Gets a solid 7.5/10 from me.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Having played it for a couple of hours, I dropped it and don't plan on going back.

Pros:
- It's 40K and looks like it

Cons:
- Clunky gameplay
- Slow, uninteresting progression system (I found a weapon set at an early level that I just didn't swap for the rest of my playtime because it was just better than everything else I found so I was stuck spamming the same 3 skills over and over).
- Boring classes
- Repetitive as feth

I played a mission that had a boss fight where I literally just stood still in the middle of the room and held my left mouse button for 5 minutes. His damage was outhealed by my regeneration but he had so much health that it took me 5 minutes of continuous shooting to kill him.

TL;DR It's a boring, gakky version of Diablo with a nice 40K skin.

Its a 40k Diablo. If you love 40k, and you even remotely like action RPGs, it will be worth it.

Within your heart

I got it on steam a few days ago and I've been having a lot of fun so far. The only complaint I have is that the multiplayer servers are pretty bad right now, and I couldn't get into a game with my friend.

Tried it on Steam and it came across as clunky/button-mashy. The controls feel like they were very much designed for consoles; trying to kite with mouse/keyboard involves a lot of stopping and turning (with noticeable turn-around time) before you get to actually attack.

I did, however, see a lot of improvement during the time I spent with it in early access, so I have some hope that it'll be cool when it's out and properly supported.

I'm enjoying it; 12+ hours in. Modestly repetitive, but the game as a whole is good; B/B+ overall.

It does the job, looks good and has an ok story if a bit light, defo better than a lot of what’s out there for 40k at the moment.

Is the game even out on consoles? Been seeing different retailers quoting random release dates.

Been playing since Alpha. It was CLEARLY in alpha at that time so you shouldn't judge anything based on your play there.

Since release it has definitely improved. I am enjoying it immensely.

I think some things like the skill tree are just going to be ingrained in making it a boring experience. Has that been reworked, or not?

one week playing. For me the Crusader is boring, very boring. Missions are more or less always the same. I had more fun playing Sanctus Reach tah this. Since the launch, they have improved the perfomance with new servers.

I will stop playing for a couple of months. Maybe they improve the game with new misión mechanics and a better character progression.

Yes. A Little bit slow. But it has a great 40K atmosphere. It seem Devs are doing his best to improve the game. It will need a lot of time to arrive to a great level. If you like 40K and Diablo give it a chance. If not, wait thill it becomes better price and quality.

I've put a few hours into it. Game does a decent job of getting the 40k atmosphere right. Still has some random graphical issues like model stretching. Audio is ok, voice work feels a bit forced (you can tell the voice actor for the Assassin character was too close to the mic). Dialog is a bit cheesy but that's not unusual for 40k games (metal boxes!)

Controls are very console. It feels awkward at times to play mouse+keyboard and will play much better on a controller. This goes double for camera controls; basically have to stop to move the camera around. Enemies look "samey" and break down into small hoards, normal guys, and big guys.

Played the Crusader heavy gunner and found it a bit boring. Move here, shoot, maybe shoot with a different ability, drop a turret, ect. Switched to the melee Death Cult Assassin and it plays very much like the Assassin from Diablo 2 and I love both classes. Too bad I hate her voice acting.

Abillities are tied to equipment which i find is kind of a mixed bag. From what I've seen weapons tend to all have simiar abilities reguarless of what kind you have equiped. Armor gives different special ablities. Then you have 8 "Accessory" slots (4 signums, eye implant, neural implant, main implant, and purity seal) for various stat line upgrades. There are a few different skill trees with a few different path upgrades in each. My understanding is that if you want to respec you need to find a rare random drop that lets you reset one tree instead of refunding all your points.

Overall I feel like there's plenty of room for improvement and the experience hasn't grabbed me like Diablo can. I'd give it a 3.5/5.

Also, havent played MP as I dont know anyone who also owns the game.

Not completely reworked no. Adjusted slightly I think.

I think thats a fair assessment. I quite enjoy it but I am not at work thinking "My god I can't wait to get home and play more!"
