JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

Ah, the metal on my skin forms little green blisters of nastiness, so I do not wear the things at all. Also, when I make a mistake and the x-acto slips, it really hurts a great deal! Hate it!, then I simply get rid of that with superglue to seal the wound!

at all the others...well i too use my small phone as a means for timekeeping...no smart phone, mind you...but that might change with the new job... but now i haz style for timekeeping... ad me to likes the pocketwatch because i never got warm with wearing a wrist watch...i even used a regular wristwatch for a time as a pocket watch ... but now that is way more cool^^
as to shrike...now there is a nasty image of a transaction of a watch from generation to generation forming in my mind...yeah i am the nasty person^^
at dave... yep...that carriage model will get a nice boiler... currently i am thinking how to use her...
as for the generous offer for pilots...thanks LDD and dave... i have to get some good ideas and then i come back at you...god i love that dakka collcetive^^

er...don´t yu think that is mostly due to your skin not wanting to get perforated? i for one feel as much hurt when the knife slips...

I really want a pocket watch, though if it were a digital pocket watch it'd be even better
I just prefer digital- never learnt to tell the time with analogue  ...just kidding, but I prefer the time to be clearly displayed instead of spending valuable moments looking at all the hands
but yes, pocket watches are cool.

Actually, Gladiator is based on the real people that the film portrayed.
Marcus Aurelius existed.
Commodus, his son Existed.
Maximus Decimus Meridius existed, but not by that name, the character is based on a real gladiator who Commodus fought, but didn't die to.

The ending was made up unfortunately... but thats ridley scott for you... Try watching Kingdom of Heaven and match it to the events it was based on... the events of the film happen in quick succession... but the real events it was based on happened over a ten year period :/
