Heyo! Need to pick up some more paints to finish the pustules on my plague marines so would like to know how you good people out there paint them. Some disgusting examples would also be great

Can't get pics right now as Imgur is gak on mobile, but here's what I do- for pustules and boils base with mephiston red or wazzdakka red depending on how deep you want to go then highlight with Averland sunset and finally yriel yellow.

Then cover the whole thing with a bit of watered down bftbg (I use tamiya clear red, but the principle is the same) and slop on some nurgles rot whilst this is still wet.

Add a bit more of the above to taste once it's all dry and you're done.

EDIT-

I do something like a mid brown, highlight up to bone, and then wash crimson. Then I just touch up the tip of the boil again. Simple but looks good enough for me.

@Grimtuff those looks super nasty! I'll definitely be taking that for bigger ones

@bubber love the ones on the top dread, whats the recipe for those nasty things?

sorry for the late reply!
What i do is to base coat with a bone colour (as it covers really well) then cover with a yellow ink wash. This makes a really clean, bright yellow. I then use red ink, carefully feathering out where i want the yellow to show with a damp brush. After all that's dried i'll do a brown ink wash to just the recesses, again blending it out with a damp brush if needed. Sometimes I also add a bone highlight to the top of the bigger spots.
I use really old gw inks. I think Coat d'Arms do them now.
Hope that helps
