Starting my first army. I’m hoping to magnetize some Taurox Primes, and also some separate Tempestus Scions for Killteam need magnet as well.

Anybody know any good pin vises or other hobby drill that are cheaper the Gee Dubya’s? Also, has anybody tried magnetizing Scion arms and backpacks? If you know the perfect size magnet, I would love to hear it.

Also, does anybody have a recommended pack for drill bits for the vise?

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

Pretty much any pin vice is cheaper than GW. Go to a local hardware store or just search on Amazon for pin vices. Amazon will.probably.be good for cheap.packs of bits. In terms of size, what material are you going to be using as pinning material or magnet size? Get a pack that matches that size and then get a range of.other sizes. Bits are pretty cheap so.it pays to.have a good selection to hand.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I've had hardware stores give me keychains that also function as pin vices. You can order a lot of them wholesale with your name printed on them for not much more than what GW charges.

I use the Army Painter pin vice. It works well. It came with some bits, but I also have a box of basic craftsman bits from sears, and a metric set that was a gift.

I mostly use 2mm and 3mm for magnets, but work primarily in marines. Don’t know what that would work for guard.
