Having been playing GW games since '94, I thought I'd finally collect and paint a Codex Marine force. I had originally intended to go with a White Panthers colour scheme, as I fell in love with it when I saw it in the back of an old WD.

Long story short, it was too time intensive and has been abandoned.

Step in a new home grown colour scheme, I haven't worked out a name or a chapter symbol as of yet. Never painted Brass or Bronze before (Tyranid Player), so tried this method: Chaos Black undercoat. Base coat of Brass Scorpion. Wash with Agrax Earthshade. Dry brush with Sycorax Bronze. The results are nice, the blue was used to add some contrast. The bases will be painted once I have finished the collection.

Test models, 1st day.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Hey looking good!

It's very close to looking like the Celestial Lions. All you'd need to do is paint the other pauldron and helmet blue.

Look very clean and sharp. I feel they use another accent color. Although the bases might provide that.

Cheers! The metallic colour comes out a little brighter in the photo, in real life they are quite different to the gold colour of the Celestial Lions. They are however a great chapter, with some nice background.

Cheers! The bases are going to be done once I have finished the Betrayal at Calth boxset, with a bit of luck they should be finished by next week. The bases will be done in a grey wasteland, I am in two minds on whether to add snow or grass clumps.

Contemptor Dreadnought.

Looking good so far. I too would like to see a touch more color. Snow on the bases could look quite good with the bronze.

Decided to do the cloak in the light blue in place of a shoulder pad inlay.

Will start to base the entire army tomorrow.

Good work!

The garlish turquoise blue is so good. You just don't see that many lurid colour schemes any more. It's a refreshing change.
