I know they all consider each other "battle brothers," but has there ever been an instance where two actual brothers went through the space marine initiation process and both came out as space marines together? Just curious about it. Thanks!

Yes. There were a couple of Blood Angels who were brothers. Then one went all Chaos.

This is something I’ve always wondered too, as mega mega rare as it would be, I’d like to see a set of identical twin brothers, and as cliche as it is, one goes traitor.

There was, I really can't for the life of me remember the books - I have read a lot of BL - but it has been mentioned on a few occasions.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

There's also Erik Morkai and his twin brother Irnist the Wise, of the Space Wolves. They're a reference to a famous British comedy double act, in case anybody is unaware.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

Blood of Iax by Robbie McNiven is about two brothers that enter the Ultramarines. One becomes a Chaplain, other an Aphotecarian

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

In Dark Vengeance, IIRC the chaos lord guy was brother of the one interred in hellbrute as punishment, both were loyalist SM before the whole chapter went mad.

Another example is Commanders Bran and Aggapito of the Raven Guard during the Heresy were brothers.

That just makes me picture a soap opera with Chaos Marines. In todays episode Huron vandalised slaves belonging to Abbadon and he's fuming.

There were two Salamanders who were brothers in Overfiend. I can't remember their names though. I think that they were actually step-brothers though.

That's quite a lot of examples.

It makes sense, though, if you think about it. Whether an individual can successfully become a Space Marine is primarily a genetic question. Your genes need to be compatible with the geneseed and implanted organs.

So if boy A has the right genes to become a SM, then the chances are pretty good that his brother B also has the right genes. And his identical twin brother C should definitely be compatible.

So we should expect a SM chapter to have a significantly higher number of blood siblings and identical twins than a random sample of 1000 human males.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

it IS actually pretty rare. It's notable that a LOT of these examples are heresy era examples.

Ahriman had a twin Astartes, who ended up being a chaos oracle. There are a few others though can't remember specifics.

I'm going off memory but I believe the Crimson Slaughter had the chapter master shoving his loyalist biological brother into a hellbrute when the chapter finally fell fully.
