From nova, looks like slaanesh content of some type will be headed our way very very soon. The final nail in the "slaanesh is dead" racket! I have a slaaneshi warband I ran a few years ago in whfb that I'd be anxious to resurrect!

Finally, we can shut that nonsense up. Slaanesh has featured heavily in lore for quite some time--it's just continually been stressed that it hasn't been able to really 'interact' outside of its prison.

In the deepkin book it is said that slaanesh' prison has been weakened due to Morathi coming out of the shadows. The greatest enemy of the deepkin is slaanesh...
So it seems they have been building up towards a slaanesh release for quite some time.

Yep. Slaanesh is the greatest enemy of elves, and has been in the GW universe forever (even in 40k). Looking forward to seeing this develop as well as some more new elven factions. Particularly Malerion's...

Before Deepkin even. Deepkin was just our first (pardon the language) in-depth look at all of this stuff.
Slaanesh's prison was weakened because Morathi started hoarding her power rather than putting it towards imprisoning Slaanesh.

To my understanding it is because Slaanesh is tightly bound between the two realms but Morathi is sucking more than her share of souls, pulling Slaanesh towards the shadow side. It is not so much hoaring power as much as her desire for benefits leading her to take more.

My impression is less that she's "pulling" Slaanesh towards her side, but rather because she's starting to hoard more power Malerion is having to keep his power husbanded a bit more to potentially counter any move she's able to make, allowing for Slaanesh to actually potentially damage the shadow side of its cage.

So I looked into it directly, and the revealing portion is on page 12 of DoK, where to me it reads that Morathi getting more of what Slaanesh swallowed is the cause.

Indeed, rather than keep Slaanesh contained within a perfect balance of Light and Shadow her actions have caused an imbalance in the bindings containing Slaanesh but also keeping him/her hidden from the Slaaneshi followers. This caused several invasions of Ulgu as the Slaanesh Daemons could sense their lord’s trail in Ulgu.
Slaanesh isn’t totally powerless, The Idoneth Deepkin Battletome describes him as a half awake sleeper. He allegedly has been able to gift his followers with his boons. He also during the Malign Portents was able to see a vision of Nagash’s future and influence his followers through faint whispers to mass up and attack Shyish.
“After the celebrations of their latest victories, manywarlords awoke with a doleful dirge stuck in their heads – a minstrel’s verse that repeated over and over, infuriating in its constancy, and only abated when they spoke of it to others. The verse talked of a time where death alone would rule, so vivid and unsettling in its description that warriors and kings alike swore to do everything in their power to avoid it coming true.

I'd really like to get Slaanesh release over with. I don't particularly care about any of the Chaos gods, bar maybe Tzeench. However I'd really like to see the new elves and what they've come up with them.

Why thank you kind sir. Also yes, the Diazmonettes were simply amazing, a real pleasure to look at.

I'm glad I have 30 of the old ones. They will always be in any slaanesh force I field. I'm intrigued with what this new box set will have in it this year. My guess is some current casts with a couple new casts like the nurgle box last year had.
I'm using creature caster for my keeper of secrets models.

I have the first version Daemonettes, Fiends, and Keepers (who will become mere Daemon Princes, which are good!). I like their old super strange tininess.
I am hoping we see a named Keeper of Secrets, but highly doubt it. I am also hoping the Masque does something a little more seductive, but also doubt it.
The old b$%b-worm Slaanesh Lord was awesome, and I'd like to see that in plastic!

Doesn't Archaon have obligations to Slaanesh, he has its Mark?
Or did the imprisonment free Archaon of that.

After becoming Grand Marshall of the Apocalypse and defeating the Pantheon's champions it seems like he's able to do whatever he wants for the most part, since he effectively acts as the God's proxy, so for him its primarily reacting against Sigmar's renewed warfront (given his personal beef with Sigmar) rather than finding Slaanesh.

Malerion's line about all the Slaanesh seekers in ulgu in the Malign portensts story is hilarious.
"This is so like you mother, blaming others for a problem you have created by your betrayal."
Actually that entire story is a lovely tease.

Hm, I do not see it as a full betrayal, a betrayal of trust maybe. She still played her part in binding Slaanesh honestly, and I seriously doubt she knew ahead of time that her extra sucking would loosen the restraints.

I do recall Teclis said for the bindings to hold light and shadow have to remain in balance when drawing out souls, so they each get their turn and share to wring out souls. But because of Morathi's greed and desire for power slaanesh's prison is being weakened, all of them kept to this agreement. Teclis, Tyrion and even Malerion. I think breaking this pact is betrayal in a sense and it's putting the new aelven races in danger, because now the seekers are going ballistic and heading straight for Ulgu.
Like 40k it's quite likely the followers of slaanesh are going to eagerly hunt for aelf souls since in AOS slaanesh like's the taste of them.

I don't think she intended to set Slaanesh loose, for sure. But, she definitely "betrayed" the agreement of how to portion out those souls and took more than she was supposed to per whatever agreement they all came up with. Because she's a back-stabby witch at heart.

I hope they do not recast the Daemonettes. A new KOS model, Fiends and maybe a new unit or two would be great! Especially names KOS's would be great.
I do not like the Diaz models. They're just Elves with daggers. I find them to be quite lame. The newer plastic ones are the ones I prefer. Best of both worlds.
