A few things underway for my latest 1945 German kampfgruppe... The dregs trying to stem the Soviet advance in the East.

Little headswop on an AB Figures German to get a dejected ‘Alte Hasen’ with an MG42 for one of my ‘Götterdämmerung 45’ MG teams…

A small AT Gun...

A small bit of tank support...

Next something a little more unusual underway...

Two more 20mm Volkssturm…

On the left an HJ-Oberrottenführer wearing the M42 pattern HJ ‘Feuerwehr’ tunic and trousers and armed with an MP.3008.

On the right a well equipped RAD Volkssturm soldier carrying a StG44.

Ernst Tiburzy – “As an ideal example for all brave soldiers, from the thirteen year old Jungvolk volunteers to the old men, was the Königsberger Volkssturm-Bataillonsführer und SA-Hauptsturmführer Ernst Tiburzy. The 34 years old, already seriously wounded East Prussian Tiburzy received the Knight’s Cross on February 10, 1945. Tiburzy was the Bataillonsführer of Volkssturm-Bataillon 25/82 in Festung Königsberg. When the Russians made an armoured assault, Tiburzy knocked out a T-34 with a Panzerfaust. When one of his platoon commanders cowardly tried to escape, Tiburzy shot the man, grabbed some new Panzerfäuste and knocked out a further four T-34’s. He then personally led his Batallion in a counter-attack on the Russian positions and held his part of the front sector.

In the Wehrmachtsbericht of February 28, 1945, it said that; “the awarding of the Knight’s Cross to SA-Hauptsturmführer Tiburzy, commander of a Königsberg Volkssturm Batallion, for the destruction of five Russian tanks”.

These look fantastic. You've inspired me to work on a "Last ditch" Late '44/Early 45 German army. I especially love the Volkssturm infantry and the Tiger II. Such a great contrast between the might of a huge German tank and ad-hoc militas being sent to their deaths.

As mentioned lovely looking work. What is the strange vehicle with the anti aircraft gun on the back ?

It looks a bit like a Krupp ?

Based on the grill badge I'm going to go with it's a Vomag Flak 88: https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/germany/artillery/flak-88/88-cm-flak-auf-vomag-fahrgestell/

Other than "they were a bus chassis converted to be carry flak guns" I'm not able to dig up much more info on them.

They look so menacing! There's just this overall intimidation factor that's presented really well.

Nice work!

Man the Skoda RSO has some funky wheels. Definitely one of the weirder looking German softskins. They both look great, though!

Do you do a lot of this work with an airbrush? The colors are very well blended. I am particularly impressed with the camouflage!

The vehicles are airbrushed with their base colours.

Beautiful models and table! Looks like a fun game to play. Are the infantry all AB?
