My ‘Skin Theives’ Warband Of Night Lords traitors have been floating around the showcase for some time and this is the very last part of that small, but very fun project!

While it is before my time, I absolutely adore Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader and equally the Realms Of Chaos Tomes Slaves to Darkness and Lost and the Damned...

From Rogue Trader’s irreverent dark comedy and goofy gritty ness to the massively and genuinely disturbing nature of Realms Of Chaos. The inspiration of Dune, 2000ad, Splatter comic-book and giger-esque art adds to the amazing atmosphere of it all.... that said it probably isn’t surprising that I also love the models of that period.

This here is my small horde of RTB01 Imperial Space Marines...






These guys are going to make up the last units of my Night Lords army to help lead my horde of Renegades and Heretics (or Crusade Era/Pre-Heresy Imperial army if the situation demands).

Im going to be painting these guys in a more modern color scheme to match my current Night Lords within the Warband Command. I will also be adding some green stuff in the form of Flayed Skin, much like the rest of my Night Lords - Though in this case many of them will have some skull faced-painted helms as well! Soon I’ll be making sure these Classic, now Traitorous Space Marines see the many alien battlefields of the 41st Millennium like they deserve.

Well, this is it for now. Next up I’ll be basing these dudes and sculpting some Flayed Skin for their shoulder pads and helmets!

Some of my favorite models that GW has made are the ancient 1988 Chaos Renegades, of which I've amassed more than I thought I had, as I discovered the other day sorting through chaos bits I'm always happy to see people digging up old RT stuff, giving them a bit of a twist and a modern paintjob, and plopping them onto a table 30+ years after they were born.

... had a blast sculpting these! I went with making half have skinned faces pinned to their helmets so the other half can have skull painted helms. That’s really it for now. Next up I’ll be basing them and then probably begin painting shortly after that.

All ready for Halloween!

These guys were great fun to build and paint. I stuck with my normal scheme and opted for the pre-Heresy dark Silver and navy blue from the recent Horus Heresy campaign books - I’m keeping the bronze trim for the most devoted to the warp in my post Heresy Night Lords models.

I was a bit worried with how the Skull faces would come out... but I’m actually very satisfied! I think they came out striking which is all I could’ve hoped for.

Well, this was a rather short journey of melding the old with the new. I plan on making sure these old dudes get to see the table very soon and as frequently as I possibly can. While it will be a while before I update this plog, I guess I will say that in the distant future I plan on getting some old skool rhinos.. and painting them In some classic camo patterns! I’ll also be gaming with these guys next month quite a bit and I’ll have plenty of gaming pictures!

The mob looks really great, proper menacing Masks and skulls came out great, and I appreciate the blood application, particularly on the powerfists, which look much more brutal for it!
