From a skim reading, it seems like it is mostly just repeating the same stories and jokes found in previous ones. While all that stuff is really good, it's a bit disappointing to not have anything new.

There's a joke about grots and sign language. Not sure if that's old or not.

A couple of things.
1 - Orks have decided the Great Rift is Gork, grinning.
2 - A lot of ork warbands have tried diving into it. Many are eaten by daemons, but the ones who survive are being spat out EVERYWHERE, even by orky standards.
3 - Mad Dok Grotsnik has kidnapped a strike cruiser's worth of primaris space marines to experiment on.
4 - The crimson fists are back up to strength with primaris. The orks are back for Rynn's World II:Even More Orks
Most importantly:
The Great Rift went through Octurius, splitting off the Tyranid hive fleets from the Orks Ghazkhull have rallied, and forcing the Octurius war to end as a no-score-draw, fething up Kryptman's, with the massed borked-up tyranids and ork Skarboyz (massive veterans) BOTH now rampaging into neighbouring sectors.
Other than that, a lot of "warband you've never heard of conquered system you've never heard of"

They've added a bit more to other characters like Zagstruk, who now is filled with more ambition and has started a StormWAAAGH!
Boss Snikrot has been culling some of the Ork leaders on Armageddon that have been collaborating with the oomies against the daemon hordes that have popped up on the planet.
Badrukk has apparently saved Mogrok from death on Alaric Prime (the Big Mek from the Sanctus Reach campaign) and is now basically using him to fill up his coffers even more with tech-upgrades.

The Orks are definitely more motivated now. It's not just Ghaz getting everyone in line.
They've now also managed to infiltrate Dolmen Gates, which could prove interesting.

The emperor must be spinning on his throne. He spends decades trying to build his own dolmen gate only to be thwarted by his own sons. Now the Orks did it in, what, like a week? And they probably just did it for a good laugh.

They were trying to toast bread. It didn't Mekboss Fixyarstuff hit it with his choppa and boom Dolmen Gates. I suppose that's how ork develop new tech.

I love that no matter where the lore goes the orks are so oblivious to it and are baffled why the other races seem so distressed. They have no empire to maintain and they're pleased as punch that they have so many good fights to look forward to.
The Crimson Fists are starting a fight they cant win.

Oh - whilst it's not specifically in the codex: Regimental Standard confirms Ork Genestealer Hybrids are still a thing, but that orks are a bit more open-minded about the whole thing than the Imperium:
SQUISHY DAKKA
AKA: Bitey Guns, Crawly Shootas
Some of da boyz from Octarius got their mekz to loot some of da dakka from da tirry-nids. Works pretty well if you keep ’em fed. You can get sum from Ulg Lotsarms and his boyz, just smack ‘im in da gob if he keeps talkin’ about “Gork and Mork but wiv four arms for hittin’ people” and “the patriork” and uvver rubbish.

"The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude."
But seriously though, Regimentul Bosspole was some of the Warhammer Community team's best work. They really expanded on the philosophy behind this line:
"Oomans are pink and soft, not tough and green like da Boyz. They'z all the same size too, so they'z always arguing about who's in charge, 'cos no way of telling 'cept fer badges an' ooniforms and fings. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. Wot a lot of mukkin' about if yer asks me. An' while they'z all arguing wiv each other over who's da boss, da Orks can clobber da lot."

There's a few great quotes but very little in terms of new fluff. I found the quotation about the great rift pretty good. Something about the smartest Orks pointing out that Gork didn't want to eat that 'unnatural filth' to explain why daemons were spat put of the rift.
Something I haven't seen mentioned here is that Ghazzy is actively using the rift to travel around the galaxy and because of this he is reported at multiple places at the same time. He is another Ork that is now a confirmed time traveller.
I was hoping for more on the Octarius war and missed the bit about the rift cutting off both parties from each other. Classic GW cop out.

There is, I believe, a nod towards Adrian Wood, AKA "The Grand Warlord".
Note in the area of space near Angelis, there is a note of an individual that calls himself the 'Grand Warlord'.
This has a separate note box to that which talks about Ghazzy, (who is referred to also as 'The Grand Warlord').

I had a good laugh about Crimson Fists. In the Ork dex it says once they regained chapter strength they declared a crusade on ALL orks. The dex says many warbosses got word of this and accept the challenge. GW will have to open up the armoury of plot armour if the Fists are going to survive let alone render the ork race extinct.

That is hilarious. It would be funny if the Orks refused to finish the fists off so they can have a constant sparring partner.

No need, Orks would absolutely get into fights with each other over who gets to fight the Fists.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.
I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games. |

That’s pretty significant really, a really long brewing story sent in another direction.
