Hi all,

When did the current Rhino kit replace the old one that was used through Rogue Trader, 40k 2nd Edition, and at least into 3rd Edition?

Did the change come about at the end of 3rd Edition, or not until 4th edition?

I've been using the new chassis since 4th. I think it was one of the 3.5 things.

I faintly remember it being in the 3.5 era too but I don't have an exact date, sorry.

I am not sure but I believe the current Rhino is a 3rd edition model.
as are most Rhino hull variants including the Razorback which was released fairly promptly after.

However some variants took a good while longer. The Vindicator lingered as a metal upgrade kit to an old school Rhino for many years after the new Rhino was released.

I have one such model which i bought after my Razorbacks, I preferred it as it made the hull distinctive which made sense to me as the hull was not the same as its armour value testified to that. A Vindicator is NOT a Rhino with the extra armour upgrade and a hull mounted cannon, its its own vehicle chassis built on the same size template. The major difference in armour value testifies to this.

3rd edition, 2001; at least that's what the year stamped on the sprues I have say. I remember it came after the Land Raider redesign.
4th edition BRB has a 2004 publication date.
