Antenocitis Workshop have a new kickstarter for stl files for most of their vehicles as part of their move away from resin models.
It includes previous kickstarters and new stl files for their other models.

So many lovely designs there. Just a pity I'll never own a 3d printer of sufficient quality in the near future for any of it.

Regardless of whether people buy these, I hope the set goes to another company as well to sell.
Honestly, some of the nicest sci-fi vehicles available on the market, it would be a shame for them to become collectors items and rarely seen.

Absolutely. IMO, "the best" tbh ... but that's obviously subjective, and in this case based on the American Legion models, which tick every box I have.
On the one hand, I'm kind of devastated that they're in a position from which they feel they have to give up on the physical models side ...
I absolutely loved my Warthog ADVs ... which unfortunately fell foul of a catastrophic divorce in Japan ..
On the other hand, I've always felt that Jed has a really good "feel" for the industry ... and if this is how he sees ANTCs future ... well, I kind of figure he would know what he's doing.
I do, however, hope that this isn't some slow-burn result of the venture with CB (which immediately - IIRC - saw the discontinuation of the GoT line of figs ... which I'll probably never be able to complete now ...).
I'm not able to support the KS this year. But I really hope ANTC will continue to sell the STLs in future ... and that I can find someone in UK/ EU to print some for me (unable to afford a printer that would do them justice ... sad but true).

Agreed - they have amazing models.
Not sure what kind of printer you'd need to do them justice.

These are immensely nice models. I wonder how these would print out in 6mm or even 3mm.

They are allowing commercial licensing that is available. I have as well as a few others I know have sent a reply out to them in response to them asking for those interested in commercial licensing.

You would really want a SLA/DLP/MSLA resin printer, something like the Anycubic Photon which is $400-500 up to a Form 2 which is a lot more but worth it. It just depends on what else you want to do with it.

you'd be surprised what a $230 FDM printer can do especially if you're willing to put in some finishing work.
I don't think there's any value in buying a Form2 when DLP SLA printers are a fraction of the price, cheaper to run and print a quality where you really can't tell the difference in the majority of prints.

for a hobby use? Maybe. For a professional one reliability of a more prosumer oriented 3d printers makes all the difference.
In prosumer segment Form2 is a great deal - it is one of the most affordable machines in it (and mind in this segment DLP printers often cost 40 grand and up).
FDM is a tough recommendation for miniatures (maybe for terrain it would be ok) - the stair stepping is too noticeable in this scale. Getting rid of those (again - in this scale) is major PITA. But mind my view on the matter is a bit skewed - as I look how suitable something is to make production prototypes. For home use it is totally different thing .

FDM is certainly perfectly OK for terrain, and you can use it for miniatures, as long as you don't mind post processing (support removal) and you realize its limitations (printing speed, level of detail, etc). BUT you can do very tiny stuff nonetheless, enough to print even regular minis. Vehicles would be absolutely no problem. I mean, if you can print Epic stuff with an FDM printer... ...regular sized minis would be much less of a problem. You can also reach a printing level where with the basecoat the "stepping" of the layers is mostly non noticeable:

All of the models are amazing, but it does look to have stalled a bit. I wonder if the next dropship will ever be revealed. I have gone for a bit of a mix to cover all the bases, except for flyers. Wheeled chassis, tracked chassis, walker and then tank, artillery and missile turrets. If I ever get around to using them much then I can do any type of vehicle and potentially rescale the weapons to fit on other products. One of the missile turrets for example would make a great Cyclone launcher if it was a bit smaller.

Isn't stepping mostly a thing of the past if you use .2mm nozzle + ABS with aceton smoothing?
I still haven't tested it out but I thought it would end up good enough for 28mm vehicles at least.

Bumping on the off chance that anyone hasn't seen this. Quite close to the next stretch goal now, after 10 days of nothing much happening. I do feel that Atenocitis could be working a bit harder to generate some enthusiasm though...

Of all the designs it’s the Locust at the end I particularly like. Very neat and I think you could adapt that with a larger cab like a business helicopter where the three landing skids fold up into the body for a streamlined look.
Very cool stuff. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Many US public library systems like mine are getting them to offer public printing.

You could maybe adapt it with the City Hopper body? Or alternatively just add shapes.yourself.using your favourite 3d.modelling programme
I'm going to pick up.a small.selection.of stuff and then either just keep them for a few years until I get my own printer, or maybe try.out Shapeways or some other printing service.

W00t. Nice new dropship available and now very close to the next stretch goal. Just 2 days left though. I can hardly stand the excitement and pace of this campaign

I haven't read through everything yet, but will these files eventually become available for purchase outside of the campaign? And if so, how will Antenocitis Workshop deal with those files being shared freely amongst people?

They're not big enough to reach for the lawyers so if the files start getting widely shared that's probably the end of the company as they're not going to want to do a bunch of work for no reward

If you read the kickstarter, this is Atenocitis divesting themselves of their resin business. I don't think they particularly care after they get some cash for their STLs. There is an earlier news and rumours thread setting it all out. You might be able to get them for free later, but equally you might not. Up to you to take the chance if you're actually interested.

I really hope that's not the case, tbh. Antenocitis has always been synonymous with quality for me ... I would love to get some of their stuff printed out for personal use, but I'd honestly hate for their stuff to become forumware.

A little note for everyone. I sent Antenociti's Workshop a message and they clarified that all or most of the .STL files will be added later to their webstore, so at least most of it doesn't seem to be KS exclusive.
