If you're a fan of the old Warhammer style halflings, there is a kickstarter that is trying to fund sculpts to continue that style. They've got cavalry (Goats already and pigs yet to be unlocked), undead (halfling zombies, skeletons, ghouls, and even a vampire), the usual archers and infantry, lots of RPG heroes, siege weapons like the hot pot and rocket launcher, monsters like treemen, and more. At the time of posting this, they're at a little over 300% funding and are predicting to deliver in April 2019 (not sure if all the unlocks will end up creating multiple waves). I used to have a small halfling army when I dabbled a bit in Warhammer years ago so this interests me even though I have no practical use for it. I've included some sample pics spoilered below but it's not meant to be a comprehensive gallery as there is much more at the kickstarter link below.

Some of them will go in a 40k Guard army well enough as vets or infantry padding (with a lot of chopping).

One thing though, where are the townsfolk women?

Out of curiosity, why? What I meant by it was the overall style (portly 1970's Hobbit animated movie style halflings like in Warhammer Fantasy and earlier by GW) of the 3d models.

If all the stretch goals get unlocked then you'll certainly have an incredible (compared to previously available collections) variety of undead to choose from. I like the art for the Vampire halfling but I need to see the 3d model to make sure it translates well.

Yeah, that is missing from that add on. I'd like to see a few sprinkled in the heroes and rpg character sets as well as (at least for me) that's more of the setting that I'd use them for at this point. The days of me personally making another halfling army are long gone but I still am interested in getting figs here and there.

Might pick up the Cockatrice looks cool

Word of wording for any of you that are scale conscious, the carnevale Kickstarter was listed as 28mm and most of the human minis I’ve received have been the 37mm tall(same height as a primaris marine).

While I've never measured them, I think the late 1990's Warhammer halflings were probably 25mm in actual height making them much larger than they should have been if scaled properly as well for supposed 28mm. Regardless, it's a good thing to point out though for scale purists.

I plan to get a few add ons. The goat hero looks damn awesome, and the wizards and KS exclusive general speak to my sensibilities. Unfortunately, I can't get the page to load, so I can't see if the KS Ex Gen is available as an add on...

Also, does "Goat Wizard" sound like a frat nickname to anyone else?

I knew a guy in college that was nicknamed Goat (he had a scraggly beard and was quite thin)... plus he was a gamer so maybe played a wizard in D&D. He wasn't in a frat though.

The KS exclusive general is both a base pledge level for 4 GBP as well as the first add on listed at the same price (so you can apparently get multiples of him if you so choose).

Some look more Warhammer than others. While i would enjoy adding some 28mm scale Halflings to my collection, I am not keen on getting some some 35mm scale Halflings.

I will wait and see.

Undead cockatrice, why yes I do NEED one.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

I wonder how these scale compared to other halflings that are currently easy to get hold of. I'm thinking in particular of Westphalia (small I think?), Warploque (big-ish by all accounts?) and Goblin Factory Shortlings (no idea).

That sucking sound you just heard?

That was my wallet getting drained dry.

I... am going to end up with a halfling army in Kings of War... I just know it. (I got the Rooster Riders last year... and that cockatrice makes these a really nice fit. Fighting Cocks forever!)

These look really cool. I think I may put in a pledge shortly.

I’d be in while heartedly if it wasn’t a few weeks before Christmas.

After those new sculpts, I've had to increase my pledge.
Looking good for the full-on pledgers.
