Subject: Is my Yncarne allowed in most tournaments without the Crone Sword Vilith-zhar?

So, I accidentally broke that piece off when I had it on my desk, assembled, but not pained. I glued it back on, and it seemed to hold well, but that is in an incredibly fragile model. It broke again. Since then, I've moved, and I'm pretty sure the Crone Sword Vilith-zhar was lost in the move. Now, my Yncarne isn't WYSIWYG. So, is it allowed? I believe that's the only weapon it can hold in that particular hand (with other blade options in the opposite hand). I just don't want to have to rebuy the entire model just to get that sword.
Thanks in advance!

SG WYSIWYG is not a core 40k rule. If a tournament house rules it, well, it's a house rule. You have to ask them that. Your best bet is to hope a friend wants to buy that model at some point, and then make a clone of it with bluestuff and greenstuff.

It's relevant to point out that there is nothing else that can be in a list with Yncarne that looks anything like the Yncarne.

Just replace it with any eldar sword.
Or heck even use a Brass spear with an Eldar Spear blade on one end and some eldar "pommel".
Less likely to break and still very eldar

Wraithlord Ghost glaive makes a good replacement. But I would be shocked if anyone called you out for having a broken model. That's a TFG move

If anyone refuses to fight against a unique model with a specific loadout when part of its gear broke off, they’re an asshat. 100%

Depends on the tournament, but I think it's fair to say that most tournaments won't care. Most opponents also won't care. If you're going to a specific event/tournament, just check with the TO beforehand. If they say the model needs a sword, just rubber band on one of those little cocktail swords for the duration of the event.

WYSIWYG is pretty widely accepted as a general rule most follow (yes Bacon even if its no longer in the core rules) and is certainly enforced at many tournaments.
Which is not to say you can't go against it, many do even outside of casual games, juts that its the preferred approach most take.
At the core of it is being able to tell which unit is which and what they are armed with on the battlefield. Now when it comes to characters and units which have a unique appearance and which only have one weapon loadout anyway, then you have a bit more freedom. Your model might not have the sword, but that model can only be equipped with that sword. So WYSIWYG your opponent only needs to know that its Yncarne from looking at the model. The stats and loadout are always fixed for the primary weapons so there's nothing to tell apart.
Now if it were a tyranid warrior or Hive Tyrant which can have multiple different weapons; then there is far more need for the weapons to be clear and specific to what they are to avoid confusion.
That said with any tournament event always ask the TO before the event.

Also from a WYSIWYG standpoint, the Yncarne's sword has the ability to "morph". So you can literally model it however you want (including not being on the model at all because it's "absorbed" into the Yncarne at that particular moment) and it would still be WYSIWYG.
So there is literally no grounds that anyone can claim foul for a broken Yncarne sword. AT ALL!

Yea, this one doesn't qualify as a WYSIWYG issue.
I've played against a pair of unpainted standing wraithknight legs glued onto a base.
My Nurgle Daemon prince had a similar accident. The giant metal sword broke off sometime in 6th edition... replaced it with a spare claw from the Spawn bitz, but was always kinda sad about that. Flash forward to 8th edition, and Malefic Talons turned our to be the better option, way better than a sword!
Anyway, convert up a replacement, you'll at least have a unique looking Yncarne!

Most people probably won't even notice, even less will care, and the one who does deserves a swift Dreadsock. The spiky chaos version too.
At all levels of play there are always plenty of armies with a broken model or two. Its not even worth mentioning.

If you're really worried about it
Clean up the hand so it looks like he's just making a fist and glue a replacement (found, kitbashed or otherwise) to his back or waist. (I've not seen the model but I'm sure there's a good spot somewhere to hang the sword from) Could even have the sword shoved into the ground in front of him (maybe through a victim).
