Which Legends would you like to see return?

Over the many years that 40k has been a thing, models have been produced for a wide variety of special characters. Over time, some of these have since been retired from the rules, though the models may be usable as something else.

One thing we've started seeing for Age of Silliness are Legends PDFs, where rules for an Old World army are made available.

If you could bring back any of these missing characters, who would you pick?

For me, given I own the models, I'd look at the following - though I'd also add Vect to the list, even though I wouldn't benefit from his return

* Salamanders Chaplain Xavier
* Lord Solar Macharius
* Captain Al'Rahem
* Commander Chenkov

Who would you bring back? I wonder how long before someone suggests Doomrider...

Captain Draco from the Templars. No rules reason, just cuz they’re my favorite chapter and need all their heroes cuz I said so. Lol

Anything Orky (Gorgutz, Nazdreg, Wazdakka, Old Zogwort, Zodgrod, Wortsnagga) to give us another actual plastic HQ model and thus not fall victim to the Codex 'no model, no rules' GW.

You know, the Ghazghkull/Calgar/Imotekh/Eldrad equivalent for the Dark Eldar, the big head honcho of the whole faction who stars in practically all the fluff and HAS NOT HAD A MODEL OR RULES FOR TWO EDITIONS.

I had never seen doomrider before - what a hilarious character. Vect should exist again. If a primarch can show up in every battle with a handful of space marines, then Vect should be around too.

Also, I want Ollanius Pius to be a normal guardsman again.

Of course he is a normal soldier. Why would he be anything else?

Unless you consider the Horus Heresy novels as some sort of canon. That would be silly.

Ghaz accidentally sat on him, is the 'official' story.

The actual answer would be that he was dropped during the time when GW were trying to move 40K in a less silly and more serious grimdark direction, and having a lucky gretchin sidekick didn't fit the direction they wanted Ghaz's fluff to go. So he went away, along with all of the other fun and characterful Orky things from 2nd edition.

Pretty much all the old DE Characters, don't see why they ditched Vect even though he has a model which is as old as Drazhar.

Reminder/clarification - what I'm describing as Legends are:

Special characters within 40k which have:
A, had a model released during prior editions; and
B, currently have no Index (or Codex rules) with a named datasheet for them.

I'd forgotten that Brother Bethor originally was a SC - I guess he is kinda covered as an Ancient with one of the three Chapter banners (need to check Codex: DA to see if they're still a thing - if not, maybe the choice of one of them could be a special rule for him?)

You could make him with the chapter approved character builder.

They made a leman Russ miniature with his wolves. They would be cool to bring back.

As to a statted character, I I fofollowed 40k in a long time from 3 to 8e so I missed a lot.

I want to know more about the Dark Angel chief Chaplain. No, not Asmodai. He's just the most infamous. Canonically Sapphon is the Grand Master of Chaplains, and he's never had a model!

Wasn't the Chaplain in the DA starter set from... 6th? Ed. called Sapphon?

The idea of not making Vect a model isn't necessarily absurd. There is no model for any of the High Lords of Terra for example. Vect probably almost never goes on the battlefield, he has a dimension to rule and should he lead an army, it's probably not from the front like the leaders you would have stats for, but Dark Eldars could use more characters.

Assuming you mean Gregor Eisenhorn, not Trevor, then there was a model released for him during the last year (though it might be a limited release, I can't remember). There are rules for Cherubael, but not the retinues he tends to have in the earlier books.
