So I have been out of the hobby for a little over a year. My job, school, and living arrangement did not really lend itself well to playing 40k. Let alone being able to build anything. A new year dawns and brings opportunity to once again delve into my favorite plastic crack. I have always wanted to do an Iron Warriors army, which is why I have had an unbuilt one sitting in my closet for two years.

So this new year I have made a resolution I intend to keep (with encouragement from y'all). I am going to finally turn the plastic grey legion into the shiny grey legion.

There is no fancy army list or any real plan. I am mostly building this to be fluffy and fun (I am not a min/max minded player). I also am going to be building my Mechanicus alongside this force which I will use as Dark Mechanicus against players who don't mind me switching sides with them.

Here is some pictures to get you salivated for what is to come.

I will no doubt have hobby ADD so I will also be posting updates as I complete my Black Templars and Mechanicus forces.

There's nothing better than sitting down to your desk and painting up some minis. Your iron warriors look great, as do your mechanicus!

Got some work done today on an old kit I have had lying around.

My Achilles kit has been through moves and Texas heat. So the resin and plastic were a bit warped when I was putting it together. I tried my best to bend it back, but I didn't want to risk breaking it. Instead, I am going to fill any gaps with some weathering and use some of them as battle damage.

I will be starting on finishing some character painting as well as my "Noise Marines" next. Also, have my Helbrute to convert up. So stay tuned!

Good stuff mate. First unit looks clean and cohesive - hazard stripes on the sergeant's chest are a nice touch - and love the colour scheme on the admech dudes. Looking forward to seeing more!

Got some work done today on my Contemptor Dreadnought conversion.

I am using the Iron Circle automata as a base. Essentially this is a Contemptor with a twin-linked Heavy Bolter, chainclaw, and combi-bolter. Still a WIP

This is a log for a forgotten crusade. A crusade that many deemed foolish and doomed to fail. A crusade that was simultaneously the greatest triumph for these sons of Dorn and its greatest failure.

This is the story a crusade. A crusade into one of the darkest corners of the galaxy. A place that has felt no light from the Emperor save the faith and steel of his angels of death. The Veiled Regions house traitors, heretics, and xenos alike. This crusade was forged to bring about the Emperor's benediction to all those residing within.

In the darkest void of space, in the places of eternal night, and where shadows dare not tread the blackest of his holy orders ventures forth with zeal in their twin hearts. This is a templar story. A Black Templar Story.

This is the Veiled Crusade.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

So I have started one of the projects that has been long overdue. In my sixteen years of playing Warhammer I have never actually had an army for one of my favorite space marine chapters. Too be fair, I have always found their performance on the battlefield to be lackluster. Now that I have turned from caring about competitiveness, I have focused more on the aspects I love of the hobby. The modeling and painting. The themes. The character of each force.

So this humble hobbyist hopes to tread these hallowed halls among veteran crusaders and add my Templars' stories to the pile. I will be building my templar force slowly. As my work leaves little time and my city little money to expand on this hobby. But alongside my Iron Warriors, it is my pledge for 2019 to have a fully built and painted force by the end of it.

So with words of encouragement, criticism, and advice, I hope you will follow me down this path.

Sword Brethren - Brotherhood of the Raven

Near Complete Brother

Cast of Characters

Reclusiarch Agrippa (Count as Grimaldus)

The Emperor's Champion - Brother Barriston

Character Concept (unsure what he will be yet)

"Imperial Space Marine" - Going to make this guy a super old veteran

Originally my Helbrecht count as, but now will probably just be a normal Marshal (Helbrecht is being worked on)

Where would we be without our "Cenobyte Servitors". These guys are essentially my take on Chapter Serfs

My favorite serf so far. "What is my purpose on the battlefield, m'lord?" "You spread his holy incense!" "Oh... gak..."
