Hey, I was thinking of giving this list a try since maulerfiends got reduced by 20 points, but are
they worth bringing?
Ideer:
Plan is to wartime mauler fiends forward for pressuring, swamp and dakka with cultists (buffed by
abaddon and exalted champion), while demonprinces are closing in and
throwing 7 powers a turn. Total of 12 CP.

Battalion - Black Legion

Abaddon
demon prince of chaos, warpfire bolter

cultists x 40 CCW
cultists x 40 autoguns
cultists x 37 autoguns

Spearhead - Black Legion

Exalted champion, chain axe

Maulerfiend, lasher tendrils
Maulerfiend, lasher tendrils
Maulerfiend, lasher tendrils

Supreme command - Thousand Sons

Demon prince of tzeentch, wings, warpfire bolter
Demon prince of tzeentch, wings, warpfire bolter
Demon prince of tzeentch, wings, warpfire bolter

I liked a lot, the only issue i see is the exalted champ, he dosent have a way to keep up with the rest of the army, since most likely you will get close with tide of traitors, and he will fall behind.

Would you consider swapping the Exhalted Champion out for a Warpsmith for some cheeky repair work on the fiends?

Sounds like a cool idea It frees up points to increase the cultist squad
to 39, so tide of traitors may be more likely.
Tbh the exalted champion was mostly for filling up a detachment, so I think the
regain D3 wounds and +1 for infernal regeneration may prove more useful than
reroll 1s in CC with cultists. May actually give me a chance to save a fiend
for a turn, if I don't get T1, and the opponent starts shooting them to death.

Seems pretty fun to me; I don't know how effective it will be (Maulers being WS 4 hurts), but 3 flying demon princes slinging spells is always good. Are the maulers Tzeentch? I would be casting Glamour on one, weaver on a second, and then try and heal them whenever. T7 is a big downer though, and if you don't get first some matchups will be extremely rough

That's what I figured you'd taken him for - the Exhalted Champion is an odd-duck, he's only very marginally cheaper than a Chaos Lord, yet the stats are far worse. About the only advantage he offers is the re-rolls to wound in the fight phase, but I wonder if you'd not be better off VotLW-ing the Cultists and being done with it. More Cultists certainly means better value for the stratagems you're using on them!

That is a brutal idea They certainly become a lot harder to deal with this way. Could warptime the 1st into CC + demon forge, glamour on the 2nd and
then weaver on the 3rd for spreading out the goodness while keeping the warpsmite close to these two that are behind. Hope they live turn 2 and
send them forward too. I think it is a good use of roughly 500 pts total

Might as well; it also creates a great distraction for the real threats (the Demon Princes). Maulers lack survivability, the tzeentch powers can help in this regard, plus once they're locked in you can use the powers to keep the princes around.

If you make your black legion one slaanesh and why wouldn’t you so you can have the elixir you can make a maulerfiend slaanesh and cast delightful agonies on it as well then one will be - 1 to hit one will have a 4+ invulnerable save and one will have 5+ fnp

Ooh this a really good point! It will definitely make up somewhat for their vulnerability

FWIW a Demon Prince of Tzeentch can't take a bolter, that's a Battlescribe error. Gives you a couple points for other things.

Ahh that's too bad, but thanks a lot for pointing it out! I think I can put the extra points into making the last
cultists squat from 39 man to 40 man, and maybe a flamer or something just for fun xD At least now I don't have to model on the bolter.
