The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

So, I was looking at Gitsplitta's train track layout, and it got me thinking about rounded edges on a 6x4 for my house.

1) If the edges were rounded so that there were 2' straight edges, 4' straight edges and 1' radius rounded corners to still give a maximum overall size of 4x6, would this give you any MAJOR gameplay issues? Obviously, you'd need to give some thought to some deployment maps. Outflanking might be an issue, and only be allowed to come on, say, halfway along the radius of the curve. You'd need to consider that when doing your deployment. But, would there be anything totally gamebreaking for non-tournament play? I mean, how much do those corners get used anyway? And considering square edges like that are actually a bit fake anyway, wouldn't a more organic shape make a more natural battlefield anyway? After all, I doubt real-world battlefields take on any recognisabl shape at all, let alone a perfect rectangle.

2) Next quesion, would it be beneficial? I mean, it would be a fraction easier to move around whilst playing. It would not save significant storage space though. Is it even worth it? Would nothaving corners just mean there is even less space for dice and dead models on the table? Although, models and codices can sit on the sofa or side-tables...

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Not fundamentally a problem, provided all players are in agreement. It will function!

Biggest effect I can think of is that if you use standard deployment distances still, it's harder for gunlines to deploy in a safe corner, and therefore force melee a little faster in some games.

Whether this is good or bad will depend on perspective!

The table in question is all but identical to the rectangular one - very little change is required. I wouldn't stress over it
