I got the black Templar conversion kit for my space marine tactical squad but the front torso pieces in the Templar box don’t fit with my space marine backs!!! What are the torso pieces in the black Templar box made for? (What minis do they fit on)?

An older version of the kit. I find the seam is mostly covered by the arms/head so if they don't quite line up right you should be able to fudge it.

the sides should fit, you may have to cut the interior pins and you will be good to go. There was a shift on marine torsos from the
"old" 3rd edition stuff compared to the new 5+ edition stuff where they reversed which side of the torso had the pins to go into the other side.

Yep. just cut the pins, it will fit.

It’s a pain but it can be worked around it depends which method you want to go. The problem is as mentioned before that when the basic space marine kits got updated near fifth edition the torso fittings were the opposite side. Though there are some torsos with the old backs such as the command squad I believe. I would like to try and find all hat haven’t been updated for my own sanity aswell.

Filing and cutting the bumps should work and torso should fit close enough. The seam can easily be hidden with the other body parts or filled with green stuff.

On the other hand get any kits that have the old torso fittings and swap them around. It’s a good way to spread the upgrade kit out.
