First off sorry if I put this in the wrong area.
- I am very new to warhammer 40k(2 month) and just starting to set up my first army. And working on the rules thing. So be gentle with me <just kidding I am no soft spined snowflake> just keep from ripping into me too hard.
And on to where the title of the subject left off.....
-And sold me the spacewolves which comes witha set of guns that can be kitted out as several different kinds of guns. Mainly sniper rifles or grenade launchers.
-Now can I just set all those "guys" up with sniper rifles or the grenade launchers? Or is the squad limited just one per unit?
-if you set those guys up with the grenade launchers, hows that work with the grenade rules? Because if a squad can only throw one grenade per round.... bla bla bla you get where I am going with this. Are grenade launchers beholden to the grenade rules?

Ok, there's a lot to unpack here.
Firstly, are you talking about "Tooth and Claw"?
Secondly, do you have the Space Wolves Codex?

Depends on what the spacewolves are facing in the box. Is it genestealers or necrons?

The SW were paired with Geanstealer Cults. The necrons were paired with Admech.

I think he's talking about Intercessors.
OP, what you're looking for in intercessors is the gun called BOLT RIFLE. However that's assembled, you want that on every guy, except for the 2 AUXILIARY GRENADE LAUNCHERS. Make those.
2x guys = auxiliary grenade launcher
8x guys = bolt rifle.
Boom. You've made the best possible intercessor squad. The sniper rifles or what I assume you're interpreting as grenade launchers (auto bolt rifles) are simply not as good at this point in the game.

The Aux Launcher is an add-on, you keep the bolt rifle (and in fact you have to keep the bolt rifle cause Intercessors are all or nothing).

it is a set of five guns with the center of the guns missing that comes with five different center options. Two of them are a sniper scope which turns the gun into a master craft sniper rifle thing and the other is grenade option that turns it into a grenade launcher thing and another that just makes it into a bolter rifle. other then that I don't know. The figures that I bought and the leader I think something else. Not sure what information your wanting. Either they are a tactical or assault. they are spacewolves marines. Looks like you have five intercessors, a redemptor dreadnought, and three aggressors as well as the character.
Aggressors are almost always better with the "all the bolts" build - bolt gauntlets, and fragstorm grenades. The other option I believe is flamers, which have to get very close to be used at all, and aggressors are slow.
Intercessors have just received a special rule buff that makes their Bolt Rifles better by a longshot than all their other options. Like I said before: You want bolt rifles, and one guy to have the underslung grenade launcher. The sergeant can have a Chainsword, I think you get one of those with the Space Wolf box - it's free, so take it.
The Redemptor Dreadnought can be taken with a minigun or a plasma cannon I believe. If your friend is playing what he got out of tooth and claw and you're playing against him, the minigun would be better. If you're thinking "I will eventually build up to larger games of 40k" then the plasma cannon is probably a better "for the future" build option, because it can fight heavier things like tanks.

The squad only comes with one grenade launcher. It's the thing that goes underneath the gun adding an extra fat barrel and what looks like a revolver barrel. If you've got a rifle with a chode revolver underneath, and a strap with big fat TF2 Demoman grenades, you've built that piece right.
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/gmod/images/e/e9/Class_demored.png/revision/latest?cb=20101123142800
If you have this guy's gun built underneath a rifle, you've built the grenade launcher right. There should be only one in the box.

Well then you did not get all of Tooth and Claw. You should have 5 intercessors (riflemen), 3 big terminator suits with powerfists, a special character with an axe, and a dreadnought.

The only unit of even remote value in the space wolves half of that box is the Aggressor squad.
Of course wolves are the worst army in 8th edition, so it is tempered by that.
Good luck.

Intercessors are fine as a troops choice. Redemptors are pretty decent with their points drop. Lieutenants are pretty handy too, and relatively cheap for SM HQs.
Everything in the box is reasonable. No, they're not tier 1 tournament level, but this is someone starting out. So maybe a "if it's not getting to top tables it's garbage" attitude isn't particularly useful.

FW official book for 40k<----- literally in all fw books and armies.
All Fw indexes supposedly not armies /lists to be considered armies . Official quote by Marmatag.
In other news Marmatag still neither has seen a Fw army and says GK outperform sw.

Welcome to the game! First thing to note is, your models aren't really tied to being Space Wolves. You could choose any chapter for them that you like the look of. Space Marine chapters have really cool back stories and very different character traits. Have a think. Secondly, scotsman has already given you great advice, but to boil it down: your intercessors should all have bolt rifles except two, who get the double-barreled grenadelauncher vresion of the same gun. Your aggressors should 100% take the bolters not the flamers. And your Dreadnought, if it turns up, should take double gatling guns: they look cool and they are a great option. But don't glue the big gun in, because it has a little slot that makes it easy just to pull out and swap between guns... (Speak to your friend about the dreadnought, if you bought the models from him - if so, he owes you a very cool model. If they were a gift ignore this bit.)
