Can any one advise where I could potentially get large and thick quantities of some decent foam in the UK?
Any experience with B&Q home-base type shops?

I'm looking for some cheap n dirty as a short term solution for storage and transport as my army is slowly coming together. I.E. some foam i could slice up and stuff into shoe box etc.
Will be buying a nice KR case down the line with proper trays but atm I'm not sure which of my minis will see most playtime so need something for wraith-guards and troops..

You could see if you can find a local upholstering business and see if they have any offcuts you could take off their hands. Failing that, ebay ir amazon are probably your friends.

Amazon upholstery foam probably. though shipping my hurt you without prime.

IF you are seriously in a financial pickle you could potentially harvest some from a thrown out couch but it will be hella gross.

Its not so much as a financial pickle, more like I will be splashing out some cash on a proper primo case in about 2-3 months... Currently I'm no quite t sure what my army will be like yet so need something quick n dirty to get my minis down to local club for games in the interim.

Been looking at pick n pluck and could get a big tray for just over a tenner,,, I like alternative solutions and ideas using cheap stuff not designed for wargaming, for wargaming lol.

If you are just looking for something temporary, you could just use some towels in a box. Or see if you can scavenge packing supplies. I grabbed a lot of eggshell foam at a previous job that Dell used to ship replacement hard drives. I also used to pack stuff in the scraps from when I took bits out of the one tray of pluck foam I had. While the tray was set up for WHFB mounted units, the scraps nestled my tanks securely in the box for 40k.

I liberate toolbox foam from work so I can't really help. How much do you need?

I once bought a 2m x 1m foam mattress to cut custom foam inserts for my transport case of choice, a Necron Monolith box. Lasted me for over a decade, and I went through a lot of armies after 4th ed.

As much as I can get get really..Enough to house a unit of Eldar Guardians, wraith guard, some rangers and DA + Wave serpent & a wraith lord + couple farseer/warlocks & winged autarch.
The guards are fully magnetized.

I could potentially pilfer a lot of bubble wrap from our warehouse. We tend to use brown paper.

That will be my most immediate army.
As a long term solution I need to make a separate storage/transport system for a wraith-lord who is rather fragile and a Wraith Knight.

I can stick a few bits in a box for you if you want. It's quite firm but easy enough to cut with a scalpel, so you can cut individual slots for pieces if needed.
