Ok, so Slaanesh is fast and pointy. Should i just embrace that and ram a glass scalpel down my opponent’s throat (metaphorically speaking)? I’m considering the Aqushi cloak on a KoS (plus chronomatic cogs, of course) to give him a 22”+ fly BASIC movement. And the rest of the army has increased movement from the cogs as well. Add in the seeker play style, and anything movement 10+ gains +2 to move, anything less than 10 gets +1. Basically, everything except foot infantry will be getting +4 to their movement profile this way. That’s a lot of alpha strikes which will cripple a gunline army. I know Idoneth have a playstyle that shuts down a lot of players, and they’re popular, so I figure this is a good glass scalpel way to play. Yay or nay? I have literally every Slaanesh model available, most of them in multiples of 6.

this works. I have seen something like it played with success at tournaments. The player only got into trouble vs free peoples (they could all shoot when the charge arrived) and Legions of Nagash.

Fair. Well, I have two Inf. Enrapt ‘s as well to boost depravity points, so I can play a summoning game too. Lol. Speed plus reinforcements. Glad to hear it’s workable.

I heard about a player in Poland winning a big event using Slaanesh with Archaon, making him run and charge and attack twice....then also attacking twice with the Keeper's command ability. Sounds cheesy and I'm wondering if one could actually do that rules wise, as if the ability says 'attack twice', and it's already attacked twice, can that happen?

I think some resilient armies might be able to resist the bum rush alpha strike and then hit hard back. Seems like Nighthaunts and Daughters of Khaine, that Elvish Phoenix Temple guard, and others with feel no pain all over could withstand it well. But psychologically it does screw with the human player to have all that in his/her grill turn 1.

If you’ve already attacked twice...you can’t attack twice for a third time. The “twice” word limits it. If it said he could attack one additional time, that would be fine. It’s very explicit. Sounds like he cheated. Or the language his book was written in was too vague.

Keep in mind Slaanesh has some surprisingly strong defensive options in the form of hit penalties. Characters that are -1 to hit, fiends are -1 to hit, hellstriders which put out a 6" bubble off the whole unit of -1 to hit that stacks with the above, and you can supplement that with items (gryph feather charm) and even certain realm spells which grant hit penalties.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

That's a very hard to hit bunch then. Helps mitigate the glass of their cannons. Hmmmmm, I do have the daemon-mounted lord still, and a walking lord. I think those snake-bodies from the Daughters of Khaine would make great Slaaneshi conversion materials. And me thinking I was wrapping up army construction!

I actually used an Aeldari Visarch with a Varanguard head swap to make a Slaanesh lord on foot. I’ll post a pic when I’m done. But I think it looks sweet. (Yes, I actually HAVE a unit of Varanguard. Lol)

Using Aeldari bits for Slaanesh units is always the best possible idea! It would be cool to have transparent spirit stones with little worms inside. But I'm not that ambitious.
