Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent tutorial on painting angel wings? I need it for a current project and for when I eventually get round to sanguinius.
Thanks.

If you want to do it fast(ish) you can do a heavy drybrush of white over some grey and maybe apply a light wash.

Otherwise your best bet is to invest a lot of time painting the entire texture. (thought the result will be nicer if done right)

Thought the colors may not be what your looking for here this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnf64wQBzAc

Its for golden demon so I will be doing best effort.

I initially went for a colourful, Magnus esque scheme, but decided it didnt fit with the vibe of the miniature, so want to do a more traditional angel style of wing. I've found a few reference photos of wings people have painted so I'll probably use those.

Just wondered if anyone had come across any tutorials.

I'll have a look at that when I get home and can access youtube. I'm after a scheme that will fit with the dark style of the model, so either an off white to pure white, or more of an eagle style brown with black tips.

This will look great IMO, you could even customize it a little bit and make it even brighter in some way.

I think I'll go for pure white wingtips to contrast with the black armour he has.

Yeah that's what i was thinking. but purple or blue or some thing like that would be cool maybe, but also pure white would look awesome, with slightly different white shades with i would guess nun oil wash.

Edit - Wash after base, but not over all the highlights.

You could give him pigeon wings. That would give a transition from black armour through grey so he to white or blue markings toward the tips. And he would also be part pigeon. Which would be awesome

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

not sure about that.. ha. I want a contrast with the armour really. I might work some warm but subtle browns into them to contrast the cold highlights on his armour.
