Hi everybody, long time since my last post. For this year i want to learn how to edge highlight and this is my first test subject.

I used this space marines that i had sleeping in a box to test.

seems like a good start, main critique would be to maybe work on consistency of size for the highlighting, might improve the results

Good start, although with black you have to be careful of making your grey the dominant colour and to me this appears more grey than black. It's hard to get black right, but with some thinner lines it'll look great in no time.

I dont know if i undesrtand you. You mean that the main armour color seems grey? Because the armour is peinted grey with two washes of nuln oil. I read somewhere that you never have to use pure black or white in order to paint miniatures.

It's a good start. The main suggestions I would have are;
- consistency of highlights. Some are much thicker than others.
- think of where the light is hitting. Do you need to outline every armor panel?
- you can get neater lines by using the flat side of your brush, and running that over the sharper edges.

Looking good pal. If you're looking for tips, I drybrush a 50/50 mix of the base colour and grey highlight over the model before edging. Helps a bunch to pick out the raised areas without adding a lot of chalkiness

Lovely shiny eldars!

Honestly looks really good. I just got done edge highlighting deathwatch intercessors, hellblasters, inceptors, and aggressors.

I hate edge highlighting black, lol
