Not a 40k question, sorry. I need to get the paint off about 100 tin soldiers so I can reuse the metal. I couldn't find an appropriate community, but thought you might be able to help. I main Kommando Nob in DoW2 if that helps.

Acetone probably. If you are.just going to melt them down then it doesn't really matter that much.

Actually, what kind of paint do they have on them?

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

They're metals, acetone. You're only going to melt them down anyway.

Acetone will take care of any enamels, acrylics, superglue - just remove any plastic from them first (like attached bases) as the acetone WILL turn that into so much goo.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I recently stripped a metal mini using Methylated spirits and it took 99% of the paint and primer off.

Whatever you use, an ultrasonic cleaner will save you a lot of effort.

Back in the day (way back) I had to strip Testors enamels of metals. I used Pine Sol - which worked, but took a few weeks of soaking and scrubbing in cycles. But yeah, Acetone should do the job.
