How are we suppose to play the Voss pattern Lightning Strike Fighter in 8th edition? The rules Forgeworld released are for the older out of production version.

There's literally no difference, just use the old rules.

Weapons are different
The datasheet lists the long barrel autocannon and 4 hellstrike missiles
while the new model has no autocannon and 6 hellstrike missiles

The rules are for people who own the older model as a get-you-by. They never intended support or for people to be able to do crazy things like *buy* them! Sheesh!

Glue an autocannon to one of the wing hardpoints.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

For the autocannon you have two choices:
1) WYSIWYG. Do you or your opponent see LBAC? No? Then just don't fire it.
2) Treat it like a SMs bolt pistol. Doesn't matter if it's modeled or not, the model still has it. FIRE!
* If I couldn't model the AC decently I'd default to #1.
Of course the best solution (aside from buying the correct model to start with ) is to talk it over with your opponent(s)....

For the missiles?
Only model 4 missiles on your lightning.

You're lucky the FW books came with staples and ink. Just use whatever the latest rules are and don't worry about WYSIWYG.

I thought that the 6-missle variant was FAQed in?
