HOW DO!
Figured this was worth spinning off from the main GSC thread, as it’s about which AM units you feel best complement a Genestealer Cult.
Me? I’m currently, based on theoryhammer, favouring heavy artillery. Even before the Codex, I was keen to include three Manticores. They’re relatively cheap, and bring some choice ranged muscle to an otherwise largely short ranged/melee focussed army. And as they don’t require LoS, they can provide support wherever we need it with our blip and Deepstrike shenanigans.
And today, my attention turned to the Wyvern. Man....those are cheap, and again, complement the rest of our army. For their points, I’m not sure if there’s a finer shredder of infantry in the game. Loads of shots, respectable range, and crucially, re-rolls failed to Wounds. Those I think have real potential. They can do quite a lot to enemy infantry, which means they can neatly support our squishy Hybrids should they be under threat of being overwhelmed. Whilst unlikely to wipe out any full strength squad on their own, combined with an assault or enfillade from Hybrids, they may be the very dab for ensuring the foe doesn’t have the numbers to properly contest objectives.
But that’s all based on my take on GSC. Your approach will likely differ (for good or ill, I’m a bit of a maverick!). So tell us what’s tickling your fancy, and why.

I think an interesting option to consider is Scions with 2x Plasma guns. They can deep strike in and only cost 72 points with 2x Plasma Guns and a Plasma Pistol.
For an army that doesn't have any access to cheap plasma that seems very good.

I just posted this in the other thread, but I'm thinking about a squad of 2 Vultures with twin punishers. 80 S5 shots, Hard to Hit, and fast. 320pts for the pair. I fully expect they will be shot down by T2, but that should buy time for my Rockgrinders to move upfield. If the enemy focuses on the Rockgrinders instead, that means they still have 80 rounds a turn mowing down infantry.
I do also like your artillery idea of ignoring LOS. Seems like having anything that forces the opponent to move out of position could be effective at opening up gaps for ambushes.

i really like bullgryn. even if they faq it so you cant order them, they still seem like they would be a great unit to bring and provide some durability to a lot of squishy units.
the real mvp though is Vultures with punisher cannons.

Well, heres what im thinking when I wonder about GSC allies:
What exactly do I not have?
GSC is probably the most glass cannon army In the game. They can take loads of anti-infantry (hand flamers) and loads of anti-tank (characters and abominants). They don't have a problem in the psychic phase and can counter deploy any army thanks to blips.
What they lack is durability. They have bodies, but anti-infantry spam is certainly making a comeback. If you don't kill it off in the first 2 turns then the GSC army is gonna be wiped by turn 4.
Taking something that is durable, mobile, and can disturb enemy movement is key.
Oh wait...…..IG fliers fit that bill...…… My buddy Adam A. from the best general podcast is going for just that.

I mean, perhaps it is a bit obvious to say but a supreme command squad of tank commanders (or a bat of two tank commanders and 3 infantry squads) seems a strong pick for many of the same reasons as vultures would.

So without access to AM regimental goodness and a need to clear out chaff for the GSC, are Punishers going to be the best pick for tanks?
