Apparently Wrath and Glory is out, and the complete and utter lack of hype accompanying it would seem to speak for itself. My FLGS focuses on Warhammer 40k and when I asked the owner about Wrath and Glory he didn't know what I was talking about. However, is the game good and it just suffers from bad marketing, or is it really that bad?

I literally just had to Google this as I've not seen or heard of it.
Not seen any hype about it or even a mention until now.

Yeah, so I assumed you were getting Wrath & Rapture wrong, but no.
I also have never heard of Wrath & Glory before now.

It landed with a wet "plap". I've seen a ton of reviews and they all basically give it a 6/10 "meh" style rating. Uninspiring book, lore, art, writing and design. Functional but unenticing game mechanics. I've play-tested it once and felt more or less the same.
A lot of ancillary purchase options and my biggest complaint is a pretty common one for almost any gaming now: laughable main content ---- absolutely designed for loads of expansions and DLC etc.
The main rulebook has...absurdly limited content when it comes to creating characters, races, classes, even basic equipment is pretty scarce. While it feels odd saying it, the book also feels absolutely soulless. Doesn't feel like it was written by dedicated lore-lusting 40K geeks.
Would I play it? Sure. I'd play a role-playing game using a pad of paper and no dice. Role-playing is great fun. This book doesn't provide you with anything particularly special in that regard.

Compared with the new book of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay from Cubicle7 is just so inferior. I'm really eager for the Age of Sigmar roleplay book. The amount of background it can give to the setting is very appealing to me.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I'll preface this. "This is just, like, my opinion man"
I like it. It's not perfect by any means, a few mechanics are pretty clunky.
It is, however, functional. The core mechanics are fun and usable. A bit of creativity and it's a fun little system. The D6-only system is interesting, along with shifting dice and the Wrath Die system.
The character creation rules are a bit weak. But I've managed to create a few unique and tailored characters for my players.

It has been on DrivethruRPG for a few months at least, and has mostly positive reviews on there. Looks like it is at least ok, and decently priced for a 450 page book.

Is it less clunky than the previous RPG's?
The insane number of unique actions, effects, D100 tables, etc is what ultimately killed most of my 40k campaigns in the long run.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

The thing that made me turn my nose up at it is that every class is the name of a model GW sells. Telling me "we're only going to bother writing rules for the models we specifically sell" in a wargame is just annoying, the same thing for an RPG just makes me think that I could go play an actual RPG that allows me to exercise a modicum of creative license rather than a glorified version of those half-assed boardgames they try to attach to boxes of miniatures sometimes.

I was following this. The release of this game system has been a crap fest.
They released it early as a PDF on drivethrurpg, which is fine. Then, months LATER, they released it in physical copy and actual brick and mortar stores barely got a copy a piece.
THEN they finally put an ad in the White Dwarf for it.
Like, holy crap guys. You cannot be sleeping on tabletop RPGs like this. If you want people to give up the previous 40k RPG systems, you gotta hype the new system hardcore.

Personally I like the fact that there are different "Tiers" available to play as; but how they explained character creation using them left me in the dark.
And the dice shifting looks like a uselessly complex mechanic.
I do like how similar the rules are to Dark Heresy; will make it easier to get into if my group ever decides to play it.

This sums it up nicely. Though I’ll just play the older FF versions of 40k Roleplay. I fully bought into W&G and am completely disappointed.

It is much simper. I glanced through it, it seemed boring an uninspired, and there were some questionable design choices, but yes, it would be a lot easier to use that the percentile clusterfeth of the FFG versions. Personally I wouldn't use either.

Last time I checked, the book managed to contradict itself on character generation with no official word on what to actually use.
The tier list is all over the place and rather odd in how it rates the different archetypes.
The wrath dice are just the wild dice from WEG's d6 systems with a new coat of paint. No. Just... No. That system belongs behind a shed with a bolt round between the eyes.
