I have made a "planetary flag" for my guard army, and its just a little bit bigger than the normal regimental flag, so what should I mount it on?

It's too big for a regular infantrymen so either a ogyrn, but would a abhuman ever be allowed to carry the banner, or I thought of making a centaur a bit snazzier and attach it to that, just I don't want to pay £43, so I thought of a retro fitted WWII tank destroyer.

Ogryn are highly respected for their loyalty by the Guard. So I can see one being given the Regimental Flag to carry.

Can't as I want it to be part of a command squad and a bane blade's a bit big.

Did you really need to start a third thread about your flag instead of posting in one of your existing ones?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I would redo it. Honestly needs some work. Sorry to say.

Sorry but I can't restart the threads for thread necromancy. So yeah and I now swear you are finding every thread of mine then moaning about some useless thing that nobody cares about.

My camera is awful so that's partly it, and the other part is its all greenstuff, if it was the plastic flag from the command box, which I have it would look 20 times better, and I just wanted something unique. But no there are people much better at painting and greenstuff than me but there are also people worse so meh.

It's not just the camera, it's pretty sloppy execution of the idea. Your straight lines aren't straight, your lettering is very inconsistent, and there doesn't appear to be any kind of shading or ripple texture to it. Getting the wavy look of a real flag does require some more skill, but the other two issues are just a matter of effort. Use a straight edge, put down guide marks, etc. Remember that you aren't trying to duplicate hand-painted slogans on the side of a tank or similar. A flag, especially one of the most sacred relics of a planet, is going to have perfectly straight lines and even lettering.

I'm sorry to say, but I agree it's not the camera.

However, maybe I can help you with a tip for a new approach, instead of painting the banner freehand.

I recommend printing your design using a colour printer on regular office paper. You can measure around the skewer you use as a flagpole to know how much gap you need to leave between the banner sides.

Once you are happy with how the banner design looks on paper wrapped around the skewer, brush PVA glue (wood glue) on the paper. You can create folds in the banner by carefully nudging it and leaving it to dry over something metal or plastic.

Since the wood glue will turn almost completely transparent, you can just leave it as is, or use the printed design to guide your brush.
