Many years ago, GW sold an urban basing kit.
aka this one
Anyone know where i can get more of the small gravel size slate that are more or less identical in size and colour to the old GW product? I am starting to run low and i have more bases to do.

Walk around your neighbourhood until you find someone who.was replaced their garden lawn with gravel of the right colour. Wait until no one is watching and fill.your very small pot back up again.
Or.go.to a garden centre or builders merchant and ask if you can take a handful of slate.chips to fill your very small pot.

Go to the local hardware or building supply store and find a piece of slate of the right color.
Buy it, take it home, and make liberal use of a hammer.
Done.

Pet store, as mentioned above. Goldfish gravel comes in various sizes and textures, but can be large for what you're looking for. What I use is bird grit, a type of gritty sand that's sold for birds like canaries. It costs about 3 quid for a kilo bag.

Stuff in the middle tub is what is usually sold as model railway ballast IIRC.
EDIT: Pretty sure this is the same stuff (probably the 'extra fine' version): LINK

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry. |
