Hi Dakkanauts. I recently got a Imperial Knights Codex and I found my self in a doubt.

In the codex the House Hawkshroud has a Tradition that is different of the one they have on battlescribe.

The problem is I don´t find that it was changed via FAQ

In a conflict between the Codex and Battlescribe, always go with the Codex if you don't find the change in a FAQ (points changes in the big FAQ, other changes in the Codex specific FAQ).

More exactly I mean Oathkeepers. Is it still usable?
I mean, I know there is one Strat tah allows you to use top profile, but this Tradition could save you some CP.

Hawkshroud tradition is from a damage table perspective the wounds counts as being double.

E.g. you have to get a knight paladin down to 6 wounds to make it drop one profile as 7 wounds count as 14 on the damage table.

I know what house houseshroud does. My BattleScribe doesn't say anything about it, it's empty.

Battlescribe misses in fact the house traditions. But having the codex you have it.

I only thought that something changed after the Codex came out but it is only that the house traditions are not on battlescribe and if they are there I don't know how.

I have battlescribe actualized.

They are on Battlescribe, they should appear at the top of the roster.

Are you adding a knight to an Auxiliary Support Detachment instead of a Super Heavy Detachment? Knights in Aux Detachments don't get their household traits according to the codex, which would explain why you're seeing something different. You need a full super heavy detachment with at least 3 lord of war class units to get a household trait.

This is correct, but you can still use the house specific stratagems.

That would explain. then no household trait if I just add one Knight? Well, thats a shame.

This was pointed out explicitly at the LVO where the ad mech guy overlooked/cheated by using household trait with just 1 large knight.

Edit: if I recall, there is a paragraph or phrase at the beginning of the traits section explicitly saying so in the IK codex, where there must be 3 large knights in order to access the house traits.

Now I know a Little bit more about Khights. Maybe It is also worth it only have one Knight and do not have Household trait. I will enter slowly to Knights, so first one will be okay also without this traits.

Thanks guys.

Even without a household tradition a single knight in a super heavy aux detachment can still use stratagems to get a warlord trait and a relic. Its still worth it.

It is, but it's not like Armigers are a bad choice. A Pair of Helverins is a pretty smart addition to many lists IMO, they're fast, have great damage output vs elite infantry w/ invulnerable saves, and are pretty good at anti-flyer duty.

I saw a lot of Knights in action but, every time I see a Galant I smile.

Thinking of running a Gallant? I use them almost exclusively with my Guard army... Terryn Gallants are amazing. For about 100 points more than a Castellan, you can take a pair of Gallants. You've gotta take an armiger (I'd use a Helverin) too, but for ~870 points, it gives you a REALLY scary charge/countercharge unit, which you can make even scarier by outflanking one of them.

I had a game where I was getting soundly thrashed by a Knight Castellan list, he got turn 1, took out 2 of my Tank Commanders, and then on my turn my one Gallant failed a 7" charge (rolled two 1's and a 2....), and got obliterated on his turn 2 by his entire army. My turn 2, my second Gallant comes out of Outflank with a Paragon Gauntlet and Landstrider... and solos 3 Knights by himself. It was glorious. I still ended up losing the game, but it's mostly because I wasn't paying close enough attention to secondary objectives, and I had chosen mine rather poorly (ITC Format) but damn if the Gallants didn't come through for me.

It does not say that. You can have 1 large Knight and 2 Armigers to access Household traits, you just need a minimum of 3 large Knights to net 6cp.

Read the codex again. It says excluding super heavy aux detachment on the page you mentioned.
