In White Dwarf August 2017 there was a article called "space marine challenge" where some of the eavy metal team painted a space marine each.
And put their miniature on a round plinth:



1. Anybody know where i can find this exact plinth? Maybe its an inhouse creation not for sale, not sure.

2. If not the exact same is possible, anybody know any good alternatives?

I want something really simple without much decorative elements that is cheap.¨
Some plinths i can use for even some practice figures without having to worry about ruining an expensive plinth.
Also good price for shipping to EU countries would be good.

I tried making it out of wood but could not get it polished enough.

Yeah it looks 100% like a spray can lid. If its not then im not too sure, maybe wood?

It could also be an end-cap for some kind of modular furniture or keyboard-rack?

I don't know how well that kind of plastic would take paint.

Greenstuff World seem to sell similar things. Or for cheaper you could get some short furniture legs from china and use them upside down.

I might get one from greenstuff world for a test.

Anybody can guess the width and height of the plinth?

Width doesn’t seem much (if at all) bigger then a 32mm base. 40 tops.

Plinths are all around! I spend at least some percentage of my day evaluating objects potential use as plinths.

The plinth for my horus GD entry, is a locking collar from a buffer used to control the recoil from the disruptors used on EOD robots. I saw it at work and immediately knew it would work, and save me a few quid by not having to buy another plinth.

Its probaqbly the 30x25mm

Could be made from polished wood, or cast plastic.
I would make one from wood, because I have the tools.

I have seen folk make pedestals from tiny box picture frames.
Or small round circle boxes.
