I'm looking to convert a Daemon Prince for my Emperor's Children, I'll be using the Abaddon model as the basis of the conversion.

I've already got the wings that I plan on using, a nice detailed resin pair from an old Ilyad model, but I'm struggling to think of what parts I can use for his head and talons/weapons.

Ideally I wouldn't want to use any components from the plastic Daemon Prince kit, I was never the biggest fan of it!

Has anybody got any good ideas that I could shamelessly steal?

If you’re going Slaanesh, why not snag some of the Daemonette claws? The biggest pair for the Alluress in the Seeker box could be perfect. Do you want him sword and claw? Or dual claws? In addition, the head from Syll’Esske (Esske specifically) might be a good fit too. Idk how much of an issue $$ is, but those two additions could be kinda awesome. If Esske’s head is too big, Syll has an awesome topknot that rivals Abby’s.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The new shadowspear greater possessed or oblitz bits might be a good source of ideas. Not sure about scale.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about Syll'esske, even though I do own the model! it's still in its shrink wrap, I'm going to have to open it up to see what kind of scale differences there are, if any.

I've got one of the pincers from an old Tomb King scorpion thingy, looks kinda like one of the claws on the old 2nd ed daemonettes but not as derpy. I need to check if I can get away with using it, it looks a little on the large side.

Thanks, one of the greater possessed has a claw that is very slaaneshy. Come to think of it, so does one of the gellerpox spawn things from the Rogue Trader set.

Hmmm, ideas are begining to take shape!

Spawn have the claw as well, but way too big (I speak from experience. Lol).

I've made a Nurgle DP based on Abby and a thing to keep in mind is his head is no bigger than a normal SM head, so any large heads will look off (the head I used for mine was from the tail of the old 5th ed WHFB DP with horns arranged to resemble a crown).

As for the weapons. I kept the claw as-is, as I plan on using him actually as Abby sometimes but the sword was made from various Nurgle swords and other bits. You can go the same way with a Slaanesh one. Look to Elven/Eldar bits for a nice big rapier or something. The claw, I've always had a soft spot for the power fist from the 2nd ed Noise Marine champ but failing that look to the DE, possibly a slightly scaled up version of the Scissorhands from the Haemonculi might look cool?

The Slaanesh head from the mortal Fantasy chariot kit is a favourite for conversions.
