As stated above, I have a fair sized force of CSM in the old chaos black spray paint waiting to be painted. Recently got a lot of Leviadon blue contrast paint and my friends parents are away so their table is going to be converted to a large paint station where we are going to mass paint a lot of models to get them started but I don't know how or even if the new contrast paints work on the old basing spray, has anyone tried it or am I going to need to stick with the older paints to complete these guys (About 30 marines, 10 terminators, 10 warp talons, around 21 raptors, and a small selection of characters.)

It doesn't work. Contrast is designed to work over a light undercoat. Even zenithal priming doesn't really work with contrast.

Dang... Thanks for clarifying...

Well then how good is the contrast base primer on old sprayed models, could this still work if I basecoat the new contrast primer over the original basecoat then paint with contrast?

That would work fine, you might even get some nice shading in areas you miss. Just be careful not to flood the detail when spraying!
