Greetings!

Recently came into some older Craftworlds models and wanted to see if I am way off base:

Craftworlds - 991/1000 pts

HQ:
Farseer Skyrunner -
Natural Leader
Phoenix Gem
Singing Spear
Doom/Excecutioner

Warlock Skyrunner -
Protect/Jinx
Singing Spear

Troops:
Dire Avengers x 4, Dire Avenger Exarch w 2 Catapults
Dire Avengers x 4, Dire Avenger Exarch w 2 Catapults
Dire Avengers x 4, Dire Avenger Exarch w 2 Catapults

Heavy Support:
Dark Reapers x 2, Dark Reaper Exarch w Tempest Launcher
War Walker x 1 , 2 Shuriken Cannon

Dedicated Transport:
Serpent, Twin Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon
Serpent, Twin Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon
Serpent, Twin Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon

Goal is to have the Reapers and the War Walker stay in the backfield (or scout the walker to safe spot) and provide some long range support. The Farseer and Warlock drive around with the serpents, who drop off DA on objectives and such.

I also have 1 Wrathlord, Wraithknight and a squad of Wraithguard with D-Scythes. I am hoping to add some Fire Prisms and a Hemlock; trying to get ready for some Apocalypse!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Consider dropping jetbike HQ and taking Asurmen to buff all your Dire Avengers and a warlock or something on foot. They can ride in the serpents with them. He gives them an insane invulnerable save. It would make the infantry twice as survivable. And he is no slouch in combat either. Also consider which strategems and stuff will work best with that. I don't see the reason to have your HQ on jetbikes when they cane safely ride with your infantry in wave serpents.

Generally like the list, 3 serpents are going to be tough nuts to crack at this points level but that's quite a points sink for 9 shots each. Sure, they'll put in the work on hordes with rerolls of 1s but you might find yourself needing something more. I'd consider adding vectored engines for the -1 to hit when you advance, if you have a skyrunner keeping up with one of them you get the benefit of rerolls.

I'd personally drop the warlock skyrunner in favour of a spiritseer so you can reliably dish out mortal wounds with smite and provide some support to your dark reapers if you took natural leader on him. Do that also frees up a chunk of points to beef up your Dark Reapers and make them worth taking.

To me the one War Walker isn't going to do enough, but if you had more of them I would definitely consider it. War walkers have the ability to outflank which is great and you should definitely consider using it to eat up the squishy back field objective holders.

The DA are solid, just keep them in their tanks until the end of the game and invalidate an opponent's small arms fire.

Well, the list is quite viable at this pt level.
The Lanchester square law ensures that the Serpents are a hard nut to crack.

Thanks all for the input!

@Warpedpig
Sadly, I do not have an Asurmen model...and given that the Phoenix Lords are so old...I could try and kit-bash something together! In my head I was thinking that the Far Seer/Warlock being on bikes they could keep up with the serpents while casting - can they cast from within the serpents?

@Tyranid Horde
When you say "Skyrunner" keeping up with them, does that mean an Autarch? I do have a spiritseer on foot, but as I wasn't running the Wraith models I didn't consider him. I will take another look at him; I also only have 4-5 Dark Reapers at the moment but am planning on getting a box. I plan to get 2 more Walkers at some point; the one I have is the old model so having 2 new ones flanking him will look awesome!

Looking at a lot of lists, not many take vectored engines on Serpents. is that due to having more armor saturation or they already have a -1 from Alaitoc?

Thanks for the DA guidance - wasn't really sure how best to field them. I have not played a real game with Eldar since 5th, so any pointers is helpful!

@Wustenfux
Thanks! do you think the Tempest Launcher the best load out for the DR Exarch?

Besides the questions above, anyone have thoughts on what to potentially add model wise? I want to get another box of Reapers, 2 walkers....then what? The goal is to have a decent force for Apoc games eventually!
Thanks again!

The skyrunner I was referring to was the jetbike seer, his warlord trait can give a unit within 3" guide so if you advance a wave serpent the negative from advancing is mitigated somewhat because you have rerolls.

The vectored engine is nice if you have the spare points but I wouldn't worry too much otherwise. You are correct though that they are not taken because of the Alaitoc trait.

The spiritseer is good because he has access to full smite, throwing out D3 or sometimes D6 mortal wounds is a big deal in small points games against beefy targets. Executioner also does the same thing but the different name means you can have more mortal wounds.

This list is entirely relying on two single wound, toughness 3 dark reapers for anti tank duty. Plus a bit of mortal wounds from psychers and serpents.

I would consider dropping a serpent and the war walker for something with more punch. More reapers, a CHE or a Hemlock. You don't need one for each avenger squad as two could share a ride in a single serpent. Alternatively, you could drop a serpent and the war walker to squeeze in the wraiths. Fill one serpent with them and the other with avengers. Swap the third avenger squad out for rangers if possible... they are our best troop.

Based on what you have, you'll be fine against tanks, you have the speed and toughness to play the objective and win that way.

@Tyranid Horde
Thanks for the clarification on the Skyrunner; Natural leader is pretty awesome. I missed the difference in Smite between the warlock and spirit seer, thanks for that.

@Orbei/Elian
I definately want more reapers and once I am confident in painting eldar vehicles (going to test paint a serpent this weekend) I will feel more inclined on a plane. If I get something that tall, I need it to look good while "ANNIHILATING MY ENEMIES IN PULSE LASER FIRE AND D-SCYTHES"! Love that!

Is it accurate that the primary flyer options are the Exarch and the Hemlock - not the regular Crimson Hunter?

Thanks folks!

The exarch does indeed see more play than the base CH.

You don't have Asurman? Wanna save $23? I did this yesterday:

Sure, his flag needs cleaning up, and the micron pen work on his grimacing facial expression does not bear close scrutiny, but from normal standing height, I think he quite clearly stands out as the Pheonix Lord, and not a suped up DA.
