The Leviathan chassis is effectively immortal. They just take the dead marine out and plug another one in. Like a battery. I have no idea how long the battery might last. It probably depends on usage.

they've never said, and I doubt ever will,

Most of the time chapters turn Dreadnoughts off when they aren't used anyway so the odd turn on to shoot up some baddies would give the marine inside a Levi a pretty long life (if you can call it one).

Carab Culln is the exception to the rule however, we'll see if his story gets some progression.

They also don't say how slowly slowly is, especially in comparison to the life expectancy of a Space Marine.

Dante is over 1,000? 1100? years old. I think Cassius is over 800. Bjorn is over 10,000 but spends a lot of time in Stasis. I think they're finally starting to give him some age based memory/cognative difficulties. Cypher and the Fallen are also over 10,000 at least those that didn't time travel into some future point after the Sundering of Caliban and before M41. I'm not sure they've ever given a natural causes death to a Space Marine to establish any sort of natural life expectancy.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Chaplain Cassius is ~400, not 800.

Dreadnoughts are never active 100% of the time.

Instead, when they're not needed, the Sarcophagi are disconnected, and the occupant 'slumbers'. Whether that's Cryo, Stasis or Coma isn't exactly clear.

The trouble with the Leviathan chassis is that when active, it takes a heavier toll. This is actually a throwback to the original Dreadnought background, where it was a suit of armour, akin to a Tau Battlesuit. The occupant was otherwise hale and healthy. But the tech involved slowly drove the pilot quite insane - good old suit psychosis. Interestingly, that was also a part of early Tau background. I'm not sure if it still is though.

As for Astartes? During the Heresy, it was believed they were functionally immortal. Trouble is, very few are lucky enough to avoid hideous injury and big splotchy death for more than a couple of centuries. So it's hard to say if that assumption was wrong and Dante is therefore a genetic weirdo, or it was right, and Dante is instead The Luckiest Boy In Barnton.

The Helbrute Naum in the Lords of Silence novel is mentioned as having been awake for 9,000 years, but he's not necessarily a Leviathan, just a Deathguard Helbrute of considerable size.
