Just when you thought the Loyal 32 and Imperial Knights were fading out of popularity (probably not, but still) there is a new incarnation.
I present to you, the Treacherous 20:

2 Chaos Commissars and 1 unit of 4 Chaos Beastmen & 2 units of Traitor Guard - 194pts total. Then add whatever Chaos Knights are the best. Discuss

The slaves to mallex units don't count towards detachment slots so you can't make a battalion out of them unfortunately

The Loyal 32 is more bodies and better shooting, the unit itself actually does something; I think Imperials have it a lot better. Still could be worth a shot, but I think I'd rather surround my Chaos Knights with Plaguebearers even if it's more points by a large margin.

I prefer the red 17.

Red corsairs:

2x warp smiths, 3x5 chaos marines = 315 pts for 8cp. Costs more but your paying 39.3 pts a cp vs your treacherous 20 costing 38.8 so its about even there and the corsairs are better on the table.

Illoyal 32 still better.

2 renegade commanders 50 pts
3x10 militia for 120

170/5 = 34pts per cp.

A Mostly Renegades and Heretics blog.
GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

They only don't counts towards slots if you field Mallex as an HQ. If you don't take Mallex, they 100% count as normal

Agreed, but that's a larger points investment. I'd rather take the Marines personally, but there are those out there that want to go as cheap as possible, regardless of "pts per CP"
