So, now with the Stalker bolter going to D2, can we assume more upgrades are coming? I personally hope not.

One suggestion was making the auto boltgun Assault 3. Which sound nice until you factor in DW SIA.

I really don't see how you can radically change the way Bolters work without imbalancing DW SIA. I am looking forward to going against the meta and making a few squads of DW Primaris with Stalker rifles that can snipe exposed characters....

Any thoughts on how GW will possibly change the Autogun?

I'm pretty happy with the Stalker getting a fix. I'm tempted to run a 5 man of them and use the Indominus Crusade to see if I can get some good sniping from them.

Is there a character targeting strat or ability that regular marines can get a hold of?

Yes, the vigilus detachment lets stalker bolt rifles snipe.

Don't forget the Eliminator Bolt Sniper Rifle going to S5, guess they were really having trouble moving those units.

There are a lot of T5 sniper targets. And it's no better vs T3 spankers. I don't know what to think.

Lots of dead Ork characters also. GSC at least have loyalty to protect theirs.

I would have thought the biggest impediment to Eliminator sales was the fact we couldn't buy them... But I guess it was just the S4 all this time.

Yea, I'm not sure where people are trying to blame flagging sales on one unit in a box of several as justification for "sales tactics".

A box where the community spazzed out SO much that eBay prices were stupid low for CSM at the beginning.

I mean GW only makes units better to sell more models...LIKE THE EXECUTIONER that everyone was bitching about 3 days ago.

Jesus christ people get a grip.

First off, that's a you problem. Second, something doesn't seem right if 9 rifle marksmen are going to seriously disrupt a custodes army, because my first-pass napkin math says that they won't and won't come close.

Armies that stand the most to be concerned about Eliminators are armies that require a number of overlapping buffs from characters, like Guard, Chaos, and Space Marine armies. Even then, Eliminators aren't very successful at threatening Chaos or Marine characters, so they're mostly good for sniping priests and company commanders and stuff. Perhaps they'll be more dangerous now, but they don't ignore invuls like the Vindicare, so I'm not holding my breath.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

The extra AP from Devastator Doctrine is going to be significant as well. S5/-3/D3 x3 is going to do a number on a lot of HQ units, for sure.

for sure, captains etc are going to be beefy eneugh to take some hits thanks to their invul save but there are a lot of others that will be shredded. wanna use a company ancient or ap[ocathary to buff your squads? not today! your libby is a major part of your stragety? noope! your buffing your firing line with a Lt? not anymore.

Plus their Sgt being able to forego his own shooting to improve the Squads Hit by 1 and their Wound by 1.

It’s for eliminating characters with a toughness boost like being on bikes.
Eldar on Bikes, Orkz on Bikes, Space Marines on Bikes.
Gives Eliminators a different target to Scouts, more reason to play them, more reason to buy them.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I like that some of the new phobos stuff is being given tools to allow them to roam away from the HQ and the firing lines

because Ork characters on bike were already really hard to kill.....with their 4+ save and no real access to an invuln worth taking.

They were already pretty good. As ultra marines they were amazing. Now with str 5 with gman buff...holy crap. There will be no characters left after a full 10 man intercessor and 9 eliminators takes aim.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Its ok Eon, I am sure GW will realize how much this Gaks all over orkz and just like in the last 4 FAQ's and Errata's will give orkz upgrades and heavily reduce prices on units which are clearly ridiculously over priced like the Stompa, I mean come on, GW realized how bad the stompa was at a thousand points and how utterly pointless its weapons were so they gave its weapons a nice increase and reduced the price by....exactly nothing. A fething Imperial knight can kill a Stompa in single combat while only being 1/2 the cost

Eldar say hello. A wave of Toughness 3 characters with a 50% saving throw regardless of enemy weapon and very few wounds. If the squad size goes up to 6+ on the Eliminators, who wouldn't just take three units every game since you can shoot anything on the board even out-of-sight? Why would anyone run characters at that point?

Well, Inceptors were allowed up to 3. Rhino up, because it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Perhaps they'll see point increases?

It's just GW's way of making you actually run the completely fething pointless Warlock Conclave, of course. "Outlast all the sniper fire and then you can cast something!"
