So now all SMs get a 4++ if they are near the tank, and the mini naught gets a 12" 2d6 auto-hitting flamer or a 6 shot autocannon. Meanwhile I'm trying to decide whether to take a Psylencer or a Psycannon....

EDIT: Wrong about the 4++ thank Trajan. It's only the tank that gets it....

Yeah GKs need a total revamp. I think that each unit outside the HQs having Bespoke Powers they can cast instead of the dumb baby smite + the GK power tree is one great step towards fixing that issue.

Where are you getting that they get a 4++ for being near the tank. They get it for being inside IF you sacrofice a gun to get the 4++. Realistically - this is the least OP unit we have seen out of the new release with has so much actually OP stuff. The one cool thing about this tank that might lead to it's use is that it can move and then disembark units.

I expect 100-120 +/- 10 assuming a rhino profile with more guns and fly keyword.

How many transports have a 4++ ??

Heck, how many tanks have a 4++ ??

Its also possible the invuln upgrade will spill over to repulsors.

I think 200 is generous..

A harliquen transport has a 4++ and 2 anti infantry guns comparable to this tanks firepower overall with the 4++. It caries 6 dudes and is open topped. It is weaker with wounds and T but also has-1 to hit plus it's a lot faster AND can advance and shoot it's weapons and fights in CC okay. I'd say this new rhino is approx. Worth 10-20 more points than that. I believe that thing (starweaver) is 99 points with double SC.

I seriously doubt respulosrs will get 4++ upgrade. That isn't even being hinted at I don't think.

Assault Vehicle rule though.
That is a game changer and alone 20 pts imo.

no the invul upgrade won't spill over to repulsors. the invul upgrade is one of several of the "turret" options. repulsors don't have those turret pieces and thus won't get the 4++

Basicly with this tank you have a choice. a 4++ invul making it tankier, a rack of guns, or a orbital relay.

this means, effectively the tank comes in 4 varients. a APC designed to simply be as tough as possiable. a IFV designed to support the infantry with firepower. or a command vehicle. none of this is going to end up on repulsors.

That is a good point but the quin vehical gets your dude in range to shoot from inside the vehical. IMO it's equal to being open topped - granted quins can only shoot 6 inches with their pistols. This guy moves 22" automatically and with soaring spite you can still shoot your 6 fusions. Really I don't think this should be a special rule for transports. All transports should be able to do this assault vehicle thing..

Really though as the trasport - you pretty much have to take the 4++ option unless the guns are MUCH cheaper...and why would they be guns usually cost more than shields.

You might be right. Haven't looked that closely at the turret and its compatibility with the repulsor.

Regarding the configuration...You actually know that??

We have been told what options are available but not in what configurations. It can apparently "take a big array of weapons" and We do know you can choose either or invuln or one of the missiles array. but that's more or less it

The exact configuration is unknown unless you have some sources you would like to share?

Oh I've seen it man. It can take a turret with and icuras array (possibly the same gun the new dread can take which is basically 6 shots with autocannons and the kill flyers rule - this is the build we see it armed with all the time) or some kind of missle system which is likely something like 2 krak missles or a 4++ or and orbital array which does some wonky mortal wound stuff. The real reason this will never show up on a repulsor is - the majority of a repulsors points are on it's turret. There it has
2 stubbers 2 frag launchers 2 krak launchers and a main gun. trading 7 guns for a 4++. I'm not sure that would even be worth it.

Just reading the text as they give us.

"To better protect its valuable cargo, an Impulsor can be equipped with a shield dome for a 4+ invulnerable save. But this is more than just a transport vehicle – instead of a shield dome, you can take an ironhail skytalon array for some solid anti-air firepower, or a bellicatus missile array for a choice of three missile warheads (frag, krak and Icarus). Alternatively, equipping your Impulsor with an orbital comms array enables you to call down some seriously heavy fire support in the form of an orbital bombardment!

I tend to agree with Xenomancer that the 4++ thing will be the most common unless one of the turret options is cheaper by a substantial amount.

It will be interesting to see how it comes out in the wash points wise.

Having a 4++ transport which can move and deploy on top of everything else seems very strong

Yes - it does seem strong.
Hellblaster coming out of this thing are gonna sting. They will put agressors right where they need to be as well. Heck even intercessors can get some mileage out of it. Like I said above I don't think it will be worth taking over 120 points. Keep in mind it only carries 6 guys so it's basically a rhino with a 4++ and special the assult transport rule. Rhinos aren't worth 74 points ether. I am hoping for 100-110.

Comparable Ork transports cost 140+, have worse armor, less BS and no invulnerable saves. 200 points sounds about right.

We saw them coming, well, we heard them first, an ear-splitting boom as they accelerated across the plain. They must have been 2 miles away when we heard the crack, but we barely had time to lift our weapons before they were on us and then... past us. Running faster than I could follow. They didn't attack, didn't even try and it was then, as the whole platoon stared after them that a dread crept through me and I turned to see that which they had been running from.

Why does no one think this will be over 200pts?

Things I think it will have given the repulsor chasis:

Repulsor wash
Fly
14" movement

Things we have confirmed it has:

4++ or Guns or Orbital Bombardment
Troop Transport capacity matching the Repulsor
Stubbers
Assault Transport Rule

What the Rhino has:

Transport
1-2 SBs

People saying this will cost about the same as an upgunned Rhino are in for a very rude awakening.

Custodes do get army wide 5++ on their vehicles, aside from the land raider that lost it between the index and codex and could do with it back.

Depending on costs the Coronus may not compare badly with the new marine tank, and it's one of their weaker choices. A custodes transport with the assault rule would be something else...

don't forget the assault transport rule that used to be an ork thing... now a primaris only. move transport and still get out. Sure they cannot assault afterwards, but hellblasters popping out and firing in range or if they get a melta equivilant will be pretty powerful.

Alternately. Everyone else needs rules writers that see writing rules as a job. Rather than rules writers that want to make their favorite army "the best".

I'm fairly positive that non of the heavy support options of the Custodes get Aegis of the Emperor (5++). I could be wrong. The Callidus doesn't get it, the Telemon doesn't have it...but it has it's own 4++. The other large vehicle options all have their own shield options....

I genuinely doubt it will have the up wash ability, it is significantly smaller than the repulsor. It most likely has fly. Giving it an invlun will most likely be the most expensive option. It can also only transport 6 models(or 3 gravis models). I for one don't think it will be over 200 because that would be killing on arrival. I figure with the invulns it has 2 storm bolters and a stubber, not real expensive weapons. I'd say it's in the ball park of 120-150. It's more or less a rhino with fly and an invuln it's not earth shattering to see it less than 200 points
