I have a Primaris Apothecary for my Ultima Founding chapter the Avenging Eagles (check out my gallery or the spoiler below). I wanted to ask everyone here what they think on which way I should go for the main color of this model. What I mean by this is should I paint the Apothecary mostly green with a white pauldron or should I paint it white with a green pauldron. I am leaning toward the white so the model stands out a little more. Besides the Chaplain most certainly is going to be in all black bucking the trend of all green armor. If it helps, I have painted all white models before so I understand the challenges involved. I only ask because part of me thinks my chapter wouldn't have their apothecary decked out in bright white like that and would go more the direction of U.S. WWII or Vietnam (which I kinda based this army) medics with only a little white on them.

Mostly green. Raptors are still Sensible Marines and there's no good reason your medic should stand out like a sore thumb on the battlefield for the enemy to shoot to death. At most his bags should have red crosses on them to indicate they are medical supplies.

I'd go with "some" white. Like a helmet and backpack, or a helmet and shoulder pads (possibly with apothecary symbols in red on the shoulders each, etc.). Easily identifiable on the field of battle for fellow marines, etc.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I decided to follow it and only went with white where the medicae emblems are (right shoulder, helmet, round part of back pack) and the apron. I will probably add a little blood to the apron seeing as he has just removed the gene seed and is inspecting it.

P.S. I had a bit too much wine so I also decided to Reaper my Chaplain. It came out better than I thought as I don't have the best of modeling skills. I was also a little worried that the arm position wouldn't be as good as I thought it was last night when I decided to alter the model after I had just built it. However, I think it looks okay and would have required a lot more effort than simply rotating it at the shoulder joint to make it look better.

Marines all have heads up displays that can tell them exactly where the medic is. The codex colouring for medics is just for heraldry purposes. Having the medic in a substantially different and obvious colour justly gives another layer of protection to the proper officers

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
